For now, the plants are small, and they don't have a large root system. Right now, they don't need so much food and water, and you don't need to water as much. As the plants get larger and the root system grows accordingly, they will suck up way more water, especially as they get to the height of veg growth and the first few weeks of flower. If they are getting everything they need, they grow like crazy. You want to be sure the roots get as filled out as possible, and they get all the food and water they want. Cloth pots are evaporating a lot from the sides, and the sides dry out faster. Regular pots don't behave that way. I try to get the whole root mass well watered.
