They look wonderful, but they have a ways to go. Be patient. Your pictures of trichomes shows a majority that are still clear, just starting to cloud up. You want them almost all cloudy with some starting to amber (the degree of “ripeness” becomes one of personal preference). Really, you don’t even need to start looking at trikes till you see more pistils turning brown and starting to recede a bit. You’re still a majority white, whereas there should be very few white pistils remaining. It’s a common theme here that the breeder’s estimates are off. Add a couple weeks, but mainly pay attention to the plant. Yours needs several more weeks and will reward you kindly. I’m not the expert some here are, but after several grows and lots of reading, that’s my Sunday morning call for you. Again, they look awesome. Be patient.

I think most of us have been there. Ideally you can grab a bag or borrow some nugs to hold you over. There’s nothing like having a decent stash to help you be patient with your future one. I wouldn’t worry too much about going too long. It’s much, much easier to harvest too early. Share again in another week or two. Keep an eye on pistils for now. Don’t read too much internet stuff, lol. Those plants will swell up nicely in the next two to three weeks. You’ll be psyched.

I know many on the internet push the couch lock if you wait longer theory, but IME that is not true. That is more strain related than anything, and sativas will give you a more energetic and trippy high, while the indicas lean more to a body high and potential couch lock.

That’s the theory on trichomes, I pay more attention to the overall bud structure, if all the hairs have turned from white. There’s a ton of info on RIU on how to tell if they are ready, it’s worth a read. Just don’t get overly caught up in just checking trichomes, check the overall look of the bud first, once that appears ready then look at trichs if you want.

cut way back on the nitrogen a couple weeks after you initiate flowering. That’s why the leaves are so dark, my first plant looked just like that. Plus it makes the buds take longer.

Close. You’re right. You need to wait until those orange pistols start curling into the bud and your trichs have gone a touch more milky:)
