did you use a pressure cooker or what? They are just BRF cakes. Brown rice flour and vermiculite.
After I inject the spores I incubate the jars for about 2 weeks then they go into fruiting.
Its pretty simple, the only trouble is keeping everything clean and contaminate free
I used the microwave to sterilize them and it worked fine.did you use a pressure cooker or what?
I didnt with that cake but I plan on trying it with my next one in a couple days.do you "birth" them for 24 hours? if thats the right word.????? another words, do you soak them for 24 hours after you take them out of the jars?
you just helped me out soo much!!! i have bird seed and i also have a bread pan!!!!!! lolThe best results I have seen personally have been from using bird seed instead of BRF. Mixing 1 colonized jar of the seed with a 50/50 mix, vermiculite and coconut fiber, put in a bread pan. You get multiple flushes and the whole top of the pan spits out shrooms.
great info thanks!!! maybe ill start my shroom grow soon!!! theres some more things i need to get b4 i start though, like perlite for the terrarium, glass jars, and probably something else, i havent looked at how to grow shrooms in like 5 months. once again thanks for the info. outI would use the coconut fiber, it serves two purposes, feeding and holding water. Ya, coco coir is the same sh*t. You need to "prep" the bird seed first. You want wild bird seed, first get a large pan filled about 3/4 with water, then fill it with seed. Remove the floating seed and all of the sunflower seeds (they float). let that sit about 12-24hrs. Then cook it for about 30-45min (bite into a seed, when its softened its done). Stain it and let is sit for about 30min. Lastly, put it in your jars for pressure cooking.
Yeah if your going to be casing then perlite is not neccessary. The casing has enough moisture alreadyno need for perlite...
