I Hate Trimming!!!

Yep. I'm an outdoor grower and this week has been chop week for me. Weather forecast is calling for a hard freeze tonight (~28-29 F).

Anyways... I just felt like bitching! My fingers are dead sore and my scissors will need an ocean of rubbing alcohol to clean up. This is the one part of growing that I will always hate. :cuss:

That is all.

Carry on... :weed:

Seems we are miles apart... no freeze here tonight lol. Personally I enjoy trimming, a chance to admire you hard work before you set it on fire lol. I assume you have a lot.... sounds like a pile of hash coming your way!

Yeah, I have always loved trimming...I think this stems from me being an indoor grower and NOT an outdoor grower. LOL.

You'd need to get an army to cut down some of the fields people grow these days. Heh.

Best of luck finishing the rest of it!

I'm with you. After years of outdoor growing...I just have a bad attitude when it comes to trimming. At first its not bad...I'm kinda excited with the results but then after two weeks of trimming...HOLY CRAP.....WHEN WILL IT EVER END!!!! I cut them down three weeks ago and I'm still not done. UGH!!! Not to mention that I think I smell like a pile of fresh weed and I just cant smell it anymore. Freeze came early for me....21 degree consecutive nights...they had to come down!

We may be close!! It's getting 30-32 here where I live. We got a freeze warning, I got the Woodstove going. Nice in my home lol. The grow uses outside air, so that's fine no matter how hot I get it in here.

Looks like you've lost your roots OP.

I dont think its that. Its just that harvest time can be overwhelming. Your pushing to get them done...fighting mother nature ETC. Thats when the work really starts because if you dont do it right its all for not and it is a shit ton of work. I guess it depends on the grow ha?? LOL

You wouldn't like it so much if you had a 20x20 room full to trim by yourself. Bitter sweet is the best way I feel about it.

By sheer coincidence, I'm blowing a doob ATM before diving into some trimming, myself. Hate it, but that's why we get the big bucks. ;)

My last outdoor grow, about a decade back, took 3 solid days to trim. Morning to night. The joint on my thumb, agitated by the scissors, was literally bleeding. Good times. That's when I switched to spring-loaded scissors and never looked back.

No, it's one thing to trim a modest sized indoor harvest (which is less leafy due to the spectrum difference as well) - quite another to do a modest sized outdoor harvest. Learned a bunch this season though. Next year is going to be quite excellent - assuming there is a next year.

If you're talking to me, my harvests aren't exactly modest.

If we were close I would offer my hands to cramping to help a brother out. But here in the sunshine state they called for "our first taste of fall" from now until mid next week..... low 60's at night lmao. Im from northwestern ohio and have been down here for 13 yrs, got sand in my shoes now cant go back to the frigid north. Get a buddy lol no pun intended and give him a .25 oz per pound he trims to your specifications. You will be done before you know it!

I feel this might be a question you guys can answer.

I have used my scissors for 6 batches. How the hell do you sharpen them? Is it cheaper to just buy new scissors?

I just pay Trimmers, in my mind its more than worth it. They don't stop til it's done and its expertly trimmed and sorted, and fast. I only trim here and there, maybe an early finishing plant, but not much. It's too damn monotonous for me. I'm amazed at people that have been doing this for a living for10 or more years!

I trim to the point where an oz is about 33g. F*ck 'em, they can trim the rest. Anyway the frosty trim is like getting a free blunt.
