Hey there guys. It is nice to be a part of the community. I have trolled the forums for a while but never registered, just read. Today however, I need assistance. My plants are showing some serious signs of stress and wilting.

My system is a 12 bucket DWC system with three 110l/m air pumps. 1 pump for 4 buckets. Each bucket has an airstone. So my problem started when I changed from water to a nutrient solution. At first the plants looked great, I removed the plain water and replaced the system with a 600ppm nutrient solution. I did, however, mix chemical and organic ferts. I had about 550-600ppm of chemical ferts and a bit of extra organics in there as well. I use beneficial bacteria and fungi in conjunction with my organics as well.

When I added the nutes, all was fine for about three days. Then the wilting began. Some of my plants are looking fine, if not stout. However, these plants in question need some serious TLC. I moved the worst plant out of the nutrient solution back into plain water, ppm around 70.

Temperature in the room is around 77-79 and humidity is around 40-50%. This is week two of veg. Thank you for your help! I NEED IT!IMG_20101013_192402.jpgIMG_20101012_235646.jpgIMG_20101013_192505.jpgIMG_20101013_192355.jpgIMG_20101012_182529.jpg

check and make sure that the airstones in those buckets are working and producing sufficient bubbles, how are the roots on those plants

You PH is off the charts because of your beneficial bacteria and fungi. Try to get your PH under control quickly and if you can't, flush the reservoir and remix and try leaving the bacteria out. Some other water farmer might tell ya different, if so, listen, I'm a soil guy, but I think I spotted your problem.

I also just looked at pics, are those actually getting water?

Yeahhhhhhh well I think it is pretty bad. I have been thinking I have a form of fusarium wilt or pythium root rot. I am considering switching from organics to h2o2 enhanced, chemical solution. I hate to do it, but would rather use chems in some plants and flush like mad at the end than to see them die this early in veg. May also go buy some more buckets so I can run an organic solution and a h2o2 solution separate from each other. Any thoughts? I can post some root pics but they are just dark, black, slimy, and pull apart easily.

I think I agree it is done for and I need to just replace it with another one, however, how cou?d it be irrigation issues? The roots were sitting in a well aerated solution. I'm thinking the roots were destroyed due to strangulation when twisted and suffocation or from a PH imbalance. I should have jumped on it at the first sign of distress but I waited and now it seems too late to remedy. May just bury that girl. Heh. Lesson learned.

once its done and theres nor survival ( as u say ) , go and throw a bucket of plain water and make sure the water goes into every corner , do that w8 2--3 hours and then throw it away

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you did ph your feed water, because no right minded DWC grower would ignore ph.

If its possible I had an issue with smaller plants in bug buckets for my DWC, the easiest thing was to add a water pump and just make it a bubbleponic system.
this makes it so it would basically be impossible for the plant to get into a 'drought' condition.

I have also seen better growth and health in general from bubbleponics vs straight up DWC

Come again, bonjo? I didn't catch what you meant.

@money, I adjusted ph by organic means, avoided using chemical ph'ers, I didn't take into account fluctuating organic ph due to chemical reactions occuring. And as for bubbleponics, its on the agenda for later in the day. Currently going to flush the res and adjust ph with chemicals and ignore nutes for a day or two while they try to come back to life. I'm needing to squeeze out some new root growth and I should be fine, just have to extend the veg out longer.

i mean , flush the plant , throw a good amount of plain water so to soak everything , then w8 for a few hours and see the outcome
