I have a emergency that im really worried about..

OK so today i read my electric bill and i havent noticed but for the past 2 months they have added on a extra section of the bill total.. Mercury Vapor light - 69 Kwh - 7000 lumens - semi enclosed area. and the bill for just the light running... ok so they do kno about my specific light and where it is in my house but its been on the past 2 electric bills.. should i be worried about them trying to come take a look at what im using it for?? but i did switch to cfl the past week so they shouldnt be saying anything about that one light anymore but now they will kno i switched.. please i want to kno what i should do. has anyone else had anything like this before??

Do you have an outside yard light on your pole? I have two of those and i get charged every month for them. sometimes they will alternate neighbors to bill it to.

what do u mean on my pole? i have what it explains screwed into a bulb thing that plugs into a wall. it it said it charged me like $9.22 for the light running that month. not that much of a problem but what if they wanted to see what i was using a light like that, that was probably used for something outside running in my garage??

if ur talking about like a street light. i have one behind my house that lights up my drive way thats been here since i lived here (little over a year) and havent had anything on the bill saying anything about it like that. just since i was using that light it says

I don't know that there's any way for the Power Co. to tell what's running up your bill. It must be that outside light? If you're friendly w/your neighbor(s) maybe ask if they are charged, obviously referring to the outside/street light(s). Power Co. doesn't know what you have in your house, or mine doesn't.

That's a charge for an outside street light. I have the same thing on my bill. You just happened to see a coincidence lol.:mrgreen:

but i mean i do have a light just like it.. and it only showed on my bill the 2 months i have been using it.. i didnt think they could tell either but why would it say semi enclosed area if its talking about the street light outside my house??

Semi-enclosed can mean a lot of things. On my bill it just says Sodium Vapor Units-1 Kilowatt-Hours Used 30. Costs me about eight dollars a month. The light is in between four neighbors in all of our backyards. I am assuming they all have to chip in for it as well. Who knows though, I have big Aspen trees and they are all leaning towards the light haha.:hump:

are you really growing with a mercury vapor bulb?....that's a sucky grow light...they do use them in street lights though:blsmoke:......there is no possible way for the electric company to tell what kind of light or other electrical devices are in your home unless you tell them, they only see power consumption...I don't blug in my 1000 watt HPS and all the sudden they are like " oh 000420 just plugged in a 1000 watt HPS system " they only see power consumption, and only when they come check my meter..........the electrical system in your home is not a computer that reports things back to the electric company...........rest easy friend....

If i was you i'd call & find out wtf that crap is all about,i know shit changes from location to location but it sounds like your paying for street lights.

i'd think it would be all good... ppl do use different lighting and shit on a day to day basis, everywhere... so until they come knockin, lol don't worry bout it. :blsmoke::blsmoke::blsmoke:

yeah well thanks everybody im more mellow now i smoked :D . but hopefully it is just the street light in my back yard because it is on right now and its the middle of the day.. their cheating me :/ hahaha
