I have a question for someone with HPS experience.

I hate to ask this here in the cfl forum but i feel like i have made some good friends in here so i hope you dont mind. I am starting my second grow and i just got my new HPS light. I am using the same grow area that i did the CFL grow in. It measures 19inX31inX48in tall. Is there any of you guys that have any experience with a 250x HPS light? I am trying to figure out how far away from the plants can i keep the light set at. It was easy to keep the cfls within a couple inches from them but i don't know how far to keep the HPS.

The rule is to put your hand under the light for a minute if your hand gets hot its too close. This is a guide to go buy. I hope it helps ya out.

The safest way is to use a thermometer,hang it from your light & have it at the top of the canopy,that way there is no guess work,between 70 & 80 is perfect.

Thanks alot. After thinking about it i think that i may need to use a cool tube on the bulb so i can take advantage of what height i do have.
