had plants flowering for 4 weeks. took clones from them and they ended up cloning in only 5 days. some SICK rooots. does it mean they can now be mothers or could they still be stuck in FLOWERING and NOT VEG?

or once they root automatically VEG stage?

You will probably have to spend some time vegging them in order to produce 5 fingered fans and 7's. You could see some 3's and even single bladed fans.

your mom is mature... makes a big difference if theres pre flowers showing when you cut the clones.
least thats what i was always told.

so are these clones going to be good mothers???

i waited until flowering for 2 reasons:

1.) 100% that they were FEMALES!!!

2.) lazy and waited 1-2 weeks too late.

Mature is relative. A two week old plant in Hydro can be over two feet tall...meanwhile a two foot tall plant in soil is more like 30 t0 40 days old. Both are the same size yet one is 2x or 3x as old. If you can take a cutting off a plant then to me it's ready to go. Many people with larger grows take cuts just before or after they flip their lights. That means the plant is 2 weeks to 45 days old.

If you have a strain that takes 2 weeks to root, cutting that to 5 days is very rewarding. The most aggressive growth in doors is when you flip your lights. You can go from a two footer to a five footer. Clearly the plant grows more aggressively in the early stages of flower.

maturity has shit to do with age in days... and alot to do with alternating nodes ;)
an 3 foot vegging plant in hydro that is 3 weeks old is nowhere near as mature as say, a 12" plant that has been bonsai'd for 3 months.
if i was to clone, id take it from the 12".....

Not sure what you mean by 'alternating nodes'?

unmature plant= equal nodes. on each side of the main stem (or any node) 2 fan leaves will grow, opposite directions to each other.
mature plant= alternating nodes. each node grows one fan leaf, opposite from the preceding node.

Okay, I see. As the plant matures they begin to produce alternate leaves. Opposite leaves remain opposite.

I've never known a plant to change leaf arrangement. Interesting.
