I have the strangest problem, and I challenge you all to diagnose it

I have no experience growing, and I've made n00b mistakes, as is expected.
Let me first give you all the details on my grow tent.
400W HPS
Low 80s is average temp (I know this is too high, but Florida is insanely hot and I have issues with funneling in cold air)
40% humidity right now.
I have plenty of ventilation. I have a blower pointed at my light and a centrifugal fan connected with ducting to the light. I have another regular fan pulling air out of the tent as well.

I'm using Ocean Forest soil. I don't overwater. If anything, I could water a bit more.
I don't add nutes.
My tent does not have anything weird that prevents the growth of plants, because I have a small tree and two tiny rose bushes growing in there just fine.

This is a short rider seed that was planted months and months ago.
It started growing, and almost immediately the leaves would turn brown at the edges.
A little while after this happens, the leaves suddenly claw downwards heavily.
This browning would progress through the rest of the leaves until they would die and either fall off or just hang there shriveled up. I have not removed any of them.
The stem is very green and healthy looking, but it is tiny.
The "plant" is about an inch tall, and it is easily a few months old.
It doesn't grow, but it doesn't die.
I decided to raise the light the other day, and after I did that, the plant suddenly sprouted a bunch of leaves and I thought "FINALLY", but then they all started the browning at the tips, and now all the leaves are dead again.
I am quite fed up with this plant, and I don't know what is wrong with it.
I'm considering just putting it outside, but the temperatures out there will be hotter than in the tent, so that is the only thing that has stopped me.
I water with reverse-osmosis water...
The only odd thing in my grow tent is that I have a small non-MJ plant in the tent that has a bunch of webs ALL over it and is probably going to die.
I assume this means spider mites, and I HAVE sprayed it with bug killer, but I don't know how much that has helped. I have not seen ANY webs or ANY bugs on the MJ plant, but I have sprayed it multiple times as well, just in case. None of my other plants that are in the tent as well have these webs on them, but I figured I'd mention it.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to what to do with this plant.
It is like a retarded runt plant that wants to die.
I thought that maybe the problem is that there was a PH problem which was causing a nute lockout, but I've also checked the PH by testing the runoff water, and it appears to be ok.
I suppose I might need to check it more often? I don't know.
I really just don't know.

It's in ocean forest soil, and from day one, any leaves that would come out would turn brown, claw, and die.
At first I thought the soil was burning the seedling, but it isn't a seedling anymore, and it continues to do this same thing.
I was of the opinion that giving it anymore nutes would flat out kill it, but I have no idea.
If there is a general consensus that I should give it nutes....I'll do it.

if there are enough nutrients in the medium already then you need to figure out why the plant isn't taking them.

could be a heap of reasons... the worst being disease, like root rot or something...

try feeding, if it doesn't improve then we'll move from there.

Hello dude - right first of all u need to change your soil for me. Bio bizz light mix is used for seedling stage '2 weeks' this is a light mix so no nutes are fed to my ladies when there in seedling stage. Next I use bio bizz all mix whic has slow releasing nutes and micro nutes. Means I'm good for around 4 weeks.
I wud highly reccomend using this soil if you can
next of all i'm using a 600w / for veg 24/0 cycle - my p.h I'm watering my plants with is 6:4
temps are 80/95 degrees and humid I'd 30-50 degrees
if you can follow this way ull be fine

I think it's salt build up and ur using wrong ph water so salt build up us occuring

Change ur soil - usually u want a soil with slow releasing nutes and micro nutes

if not u need to use specific ph water

Well, this thing hasn't been a "seedling" for months, and while Bio Bizz may be a good soil, I don't think Ocean Forest is killing my plant, do you?
I have this one plant getting plenty of light, so 400W should be good for so few plants. I grew a much better plant using CFLs, so I figure this is an upgrade.
I use an 18/6 schedule.
I just checked my PH.
The PH of my water in the watering can was a good yellow color, so probably around 6. It isn't exactly the most exact thing.
The PH of the runoff was more orange looking, so it is in the fives.
Should I try adding a bit of PH UP? I'm scared of messing with the PH too much.
That's how I murdered my first plant, after so much work and it looked beautiful.


The mistakes I've made are that I had it too close to the light for a while, I put it in a huge pot to start with, I probably haven't watered it with the best schedule, and most of all, the temps are higher than ideal.

Do I flush it wish PHd water? Or do I wait for the soil to dry out and then give it PHd water?

man toss that shit it is just stunted i have concluded after reading through you setup that YOU are doing nothing wrong it is the plant that needs to go ( buy more seeds ) and start over i promise this is not your fault just horrible genetics and whatever breeder you got this from should be ashamed

Dnkfr!!! What the hell are you talking about!!?? He's doing nothing wrong? With a ph of 5? Are you being serious?

You need to flush with ph water 6:0 -6:5 ph. In that number sumwhere. Don't listen to idiots like him. U need a ph tester. Either digital or strips. U can buy ph up & down also.

hey bro, not the fox farm killing the plant i dont think...or stressing i should say, and i think if ph is 6 it is a little low, but i dont think it wll cause a plant to do what your describing,,,sounds to me like heat and or lac of water...how close is ur light and how often do you water?

and i posted before reading page 2, but i agree with dnkfrmthas and say try another seed.

Well my light is about 3 feet away now, but it was a lot closer before.
Like I said, when I first moved the light away, the plant immediately grew upwards and sprouted leaves, but they ended up browning, clawing, and dying.
I don't know how this thing is still alive at all.

I water about once a week or so. I water whenever I feel the soil is dry in the first few inches down.
This method has kept my other non-MJ plants alive, though my roses are have yellowish leaves...so idk.

Actually, I bought these from nirvana, and I ended up ordering PPP and feminized master kush seeds from them.
About half or more of my PPP seeds were straight duds. It took forever for the seed to crack, and when they finally did, the little white root ended up, instead of going down, of just curling up and dying. One of them did sprout, but then the little seedling just died with the seed still on it, because it couldn't break the seed apart. a couple seeds never cracked at all, after soaking them in water repeatedly...
I tried a few other seeds yesterday, and all but one immediately cracked, so maybe these will work. I really hope so. These seeds were expensive, and I don't have the money to keep buying more just to have them die on me

HEllo there , last year i grew some EASYRIDER's and had the same problem at first for me it was the soil,never start a seed with soil that has nutes already,should wait 3 to 4 weeks before nutes ,the lowrider strains are very touchy to the nute factor !and if its an auto flowering plant it going to start budding at like 6 weeks and you will end up with a 3 gram bud when done!So i would restart anew one with germ soil and go from there ,but still grow this so you can learn from it "all grows are good grows !" But when it did grow it was like a bonzi pot plant little leaves that would fit on a quarter!lol

i would say try giving them more water, maybe 2-3 times a week, you dont want your soil drying out that much...and its funny you had problems with nirvana PPP i also bought 5 fem seeds and not one germd...try attitude seed bank, i have had nothing but good experiences with them, and the free seeds with every purchace are nice too
