I have a four by 8 foot tent in this tent i have a twin lid 300w cfl a single lid 300w cfl and a hps 600w red spec hps. my plants are 3 weeks into flower with some clones and seedlings on the go to...i leave a tent door fully open for the full 12 light cycle with all the lights on this is to keep the temps at around 78 to 80 f ...will keeping the door open affect the yeald in a substantial way? i have one inline fan and a 4 inch carbon filter and a 12 inch stand fan that is on the go all day...if i close the tent doors the temp goes up to 90 f any advice and help would be welcome.
Thx-)

If you're not supplementing co2, then having the tent open will probably increase your yields. More air exchange the better. If you want to keep your plants alive in 90° temps, you might think of supplemental co2. You will have to time your exhaust so it doesn't suck out all of your co2 when its fresh.

Only thing to worry about is smell later in flower. That carbon filter most likely isn't large enough to scrub the whole room.

Buy a bigger fan and carbon filter and install. Make sure the hot air being extracted from tent is going somewhere other than that room (out the roof or to a lung room)

so you have 3 x 300w cfl`s running in your tent ?

Dude that`s where all your heat is coming from pull them all out and instead add one 600w MH or hps or even a 400mh them big cfls give off a load of heat and they don`t give much flowering light, the 105w ones are as big as I go with cfl`s as they get real hot

you can put them on metal shades and then suck your extract or blow your fans on the metal to help cool them but you`d be better off dumping the 900w of cfl your using and going with a 600w mh in a cool tube or something ?

If it's cold in your area try to use that to your advantage. Cut the heat off to that room. Crack a window if your comfortable with it. Add ducting to your intake to outside. All kinds of ways to help the problem without spending a lot of cash.

im gonna have to run to the enD with the cfl's on this grow and invest in some mh/hps on the next run...ill get some fans on the cfl's though try and cool them they are the biggest you can get and do run real hot!!! i got them because on ebay they said they run really cool like no heat so i thought that was great....they lied...they are a heat problem and will be swapping them out as soon as i got the cash to do so....thx for the help bro appreaciated...-)

if your having big issues with the heat then run the cfl`s one hour on one hour off

unlike hps cfl`s don`t blow much faster if you turn them on and off a lot and honestly you`d need over 1200w of cfl maybe even 2000w to match a 600hps so no real point going to loads of trouble to keep all the cfl`s on

you could also try a heatshield/light spreader for your hps ? will even out the light and heat and get you more yield all round?
