I heard if you interrupt dark time will produce more females

I heard that if you interrupt your baby plants dark time with a hour of light, that it will influence them to produce more female plants. Does anyone know if their is any truth to doing this?

Never heard of that. According the the grow bible, less light per day influences female growth. ie 18/6 would produce more females than 24/0.

I would imagine that interrupting the dark time with light, would stress your plants and increase chance of male/hermies. But I couldn't say for sure

DO NOT INTERUPT THE DARK CYCLE!!!!

you will not influence the seedlings to become females... what you'll be doing is confusing the seedlings causing them to hermaphrodite....

if the plants are already sexed or from clone, interuppting the light cycle will hermiphy them, too.

ye man the others are right. on my first grow i found out my idiot brother was sneaking in to take a peak, at lights out (ass hole!) and i ended up with 4 hermies out of my 10 fem cheese!

no no i'm sure i heard opposite it is if you interrupt dark time you will get hermies

Thanks everyone for your imput. Otherwise I might have done something stupid to my babies. I better make sure my roommate stays out of my closet too during dark time. Thanks again everyone.
