nice torchwork fdd. have you done any blowing? its nice to make cups and stuff. they have glass blowing co-ops and open 'holes most places these days, you should check out your local one. You could also make sweet insects with your newly found flameworking skills. ill be sure to check back for your new work.

Hey FDD, are you just refilling an oxygen tank? i went to rent one, and the guy working at the gas place said you cant really use compressed oxygen cuz its only 90% pure, and he said most glass blowers use "compressed liquid" oxygen. He also said you cant use oxygen generators, even though iv seen it done with the smaller beading torches. I just got all my glass stuff, torch, and kiln in today, all under $1400. Oxygen is the only thing i need. Thanks

Do you make the marbles for practicing technique or do you use them in any of your pieces? Just curious...

For what its worth, my experince with blowing glass...While in school in MI we went for a -pot run- to Saginaw. After buying the smoke my new found friend suggested we stop by his dads shop. It was a neon glass business. Keys in hand, 2am, we spent the rest of the morning blowing glass pipes and smoking our new purchase. 12 out of 40 or so pipes made the grade. Best homemade gifts I ever handed out at Christmas..
