I love harvest day

It may only be 1 of my 6. But after today I wouldn’t have it any other way. Ok. Sure I would. Lol. But I’m super happy it’s a staggered harvest.
Happy to report after trimming, and close inspection well still in the ground, I found no bud rot.
I gave her a 4 bucket wash. (1st h2o2), (2nd lemon juice and baking soda), (3rd hot water), (4th cold water). So happy I did. The shit that came of her. Wow! Hung her outside in the sun for an hour, and into dry room.
Should be dry just in time to chop the next one. Maybe two.

I wanted to add a bid thanks to all the forum members that chimed in on washing. I’d honestly never considered it, nor did I know much about it. But I will never harvest again without a wash. All the shit that came off my plants was unreal. Now my whole house is smelling like wicked bud, I ain’t smoking bugs and shit. Lol. Again cheers to all! I appreciate the wealth of knowledge.

Cool,Id be careful with cold water wash, thats how you make hash. Not sure if its the cold water or the stirring that breaks the heads off but just a heads up.

Not Ice cold. Just cool I guess on bucket 4. A light stir for 30 sec. checked them well hanging. Trichomes intact and frosty!!

We don't like harvest day here. Sure it was fun the first time, but it got old quick. At least for us.
Lol. I totally get it. It took a whole day for one bloody plant. Second grow. No bud rot. I was truly loving it after 6 months raising that girl. It was only the first plant. Trust me… with the staggered harvest, I totally expect thread titles to change from “love” to “my god dam back”, “I can hardly walk”!

So no joke.. my wife just looked at me after getting home, said some shit like” we will have to see, if the smell starts making me, and the kids dizzy…..we’ll have to see”. Dizzy? It’s drying downstairs in a room. Can’t decide if that’s a good or bad thing she’d say that? Like bad cause I might need a new place to dry, or good because my whole house reeks after 4hrs of drying? Hahaha

We all smelled like chronic before I started exhausting outside. We learned leather really absorbs the smell when people at my wife's work kept smelling skunky weed. And she works in a hospital, lol.

Shit. I never thought of that. My wife’s a nurse. But I’m not bringing it up. She said dizzy. That I can work with. Lol

I had to move my drying and most of the processing of my harvests outside of my house because of the smell. I still do the final trim and putting up in jars in the house but that is a relatively fast process but my wife still notices it and isn’t happy. Once you jar it, and if you’re careful not to handle the jars with sticky gloves (I set out the jars before I start and after filling I remove my gloves to screw the lids on and move to storage) this effectively stops the smell.

You first thing you have to realize is that handling your harvest inures you to a lot of the smell. Fresh cannabis is very smelly and will permeate through out your house. I don’t live in a legal state but even if I did I’d still handle my harvest the way I do because the smell easily becomes over powering to the point of making people sick to their stomach.
