I have a number of very successful grows under my belt. But I never knew about Rollitup.org. As I have read all of your guys threads on your grows and such. I have came to under stand I do not know as much as I thought, and have little skill.

My Plants grow big fat and healthy, But I have always grown from seeds. After reading all of your guys opinions on Cloneing, I desided to give it a go. My first time wat 12 clones, all 12 took off and grew roots, But as luck played out, all were taken from 6 different male plants. My second try was 10 clones from a true female.. Pfft, all 10 died. Third try at cloning is going on right now. I took 12 clones this time. Following peoples advise, 45 degree cut under water, root gel, rapid rooters, clone dome, 80ish degrees. Balh, blah.. BANG!!!!!!! I really though all 12 were going to live for the first 3 days, then I thought at least 6 would live, now I am praying that 4 will live. I must be doing something wrong, like over misting, or something.

Here is what I am wondering if someone can help me out with. Does anyone know of a thread or a video on how to DIY one of those Easy Cloning machines? They work off of airoponics, which I have never used before. I have only grown with Flood& Drain, and Drip.

If not, someone know of a Video that will almost hand my hand through this Cloning trouble I am having.

I feel so ashamed....:( Everyone seems to say that Cloning is so easy, I thought it was also, at least my first try. I think I am over doing something. I use no nuts. Just water, and not much light either, just side light from the cfls, and the T-5's that are on my mother plant. I can not think of anything I am doing differently. I should have kept a close journal on my cloning attempts.

Please someone save me before I go crazy. I have been all over U-tube, and this site trying to figure out how to make a easy cloner machine.

Oh,, when I mist. I wait for the inside of the dome cover to start drying up.. like maybe 60%-80% dry, then I mist the inside of the dome, and the clones and the bottom of the tray. I am wondering what I did my first try. Maybe I only misted the clones.... What a Stoner.....:joint::confused:

i only mist a day or two. if you mist too much the cutting won't need to grow roots. if you stop misting it forces it to form roots.

FDD is it, that you only mist for a day or two then stop?? Or you only mist 1-2 times a day?

I know I am doing something stupid, and I am not able to see what it is. Most likely something simple.

The most important thing to know about cloning that i've learn through trial and error is to keep the cut moist. I've done a aero cloner diy and i notice that my clone wilt very badly after a few mins of no mist(mist from the aero system not spraying), and when using rockwool it must be wet but not saturated, meaning put a lil pressure on it with your finger and you can feel the water not putting pressure on it and seeing water gushing out.

If you can stick to that rule you'll successfully clone.

the container is clear, paint black to keep light from roots (outside)

you can use from 1/2 to 1" tubing to support the cuttings.

drill holes to size and place the tubing in holes 1" long.

drill 2 more holes for the air tubing above water level.

fill with room temp water (80f) 1/2" below cuttings.

plug in air pump and check that all your cuttings are wet from the air bubbles bursting above the water line (i found it is o.k. to start with the cuttings touching the water also), to lazy to make all the cuts the same size.

the water will evaporate very slowly so i just change once a week to keep fresh from algae. also i add a very little bloom nute (P) to help with rooting.

very simple just misting twice a day for the first 3 days.........GOOD LUCK !! :joint::peace:

no need to mist if you using a clone dome, keep it closed and the water in the bottom of the tray will take care of the clones , when you mist the clones , it gives them water , you want your clone to have to look for water , witch means the roots will stretch down in the bottom tray where the water is, spraying them makes it where they dont have to look for water and lenthens the cloneing time
