I Need A Full Instruction On Using Peat Pellets (Please)

I checked out forums on how to use peat pellets, but they haven't been very useful. First off, I am going to grow outdoors but before that I need to learn how to use the peat pellets. Once that I have planted a seed in a peat pellets, then what? Do I put the peat pellet outside in direct sun? Do I cover it in a warm dark place with no air circulation? I don't know... please help a fellow grower.

1. get the seed in the pellet
2. insert seed
3. keep in dark place 3 days
4.insert peat to growing media under sun of artificial lighting
5. keep growing media moist but not damp (higher temps like 80 degrees and high humidity promote seedling growth)

for step #3, should it be covered?
