I Need a Little Help

I want to start growing outside, but unfortunatly, where i live, the weather has very harsh winters.

But the Spring, Summer, and Fall are all perfect.

Humidity is good, and Temp is good as well

It Rarely ever gets over 100f, although it is known too, but not for very long.

Anyways what im saying is, clones are out of the question, so i am forced to start with seed

So i can only have one harvest in a year if i grow outside, due to the winter, but i guess thats how it is anyway.

HERE IS WHAT I WANT TO DO AND NEED SOME HELP WITH

: I want to set up a way i can start some seeds, grow em all seperatly, and when the males show, i can just toss em.
But, i want to grow them in Jiffy pots. So when i have all the females picked out, i can just put them in their
permanent homes.

:I want to do all of this outside

:Like i said, i dont have any way to get clones, so i am forced to start with seed.

:Is there really a way to tell if a seed is male or female?

:I just need some help with sexing issues, and a processes to do all this.

Im new to growing outdoors. *Ex Closet grower*

Any help is greatly apriciated

Just germinate in the house a bout a month and half before your descent spring moves in then transplant them outside that gives you time to start them on 24/7 for a couple of weeks then kick them to 12/12 to show sex when you find your ladys put them outside were they get morning afternoon and evening sun atleast 13-15 hrs of light then by the time fall gets there you will have some monster plants with a great harvest good luck and i would use some plastic cups as you can transplant them easy

no get 6500k cfls in a 42watt as many as possible as they will thrive nice if you keep them on 24/7 i would probaly top them a few times to to make multiple branches as when you put them outside they will be extremely bushy and will branch real nice and you should harvest a big yeild

i was thinking about finding a way to top it off at about 3 feet so then i can branch the 2 new starts out horizontally,

Like let them follow along a rail and tie em down

Just something i heard from someone.

I dont know if it would work well

thats over my head never tried to rope a dope on a plant heard of people doing i owuld be looking for a six foot plant with a qp a plant

you just said you were a closet grower
If i was you i would start your seeds in late dec early jan. Not sure how many plants your looking for but i would do at least 10 if you dont have them sexed. I would go to homedepo and get 2 300watt floresents and put them on an 18/6 light schedule in a closet. Once the weather is nice go prepare your area outside dig up a few feet of dirt and replace it with a healthy dirt mix. Once the low temp is consistantly around 40 degrees i would transplant them outside and put up a green house tent or visquin during the night and remove in the morning. Do this until the weather is a little warmer and the plants are adjusted to the outside weather. Keep your eye on the temperature. When the weather gets really hot you really need to make sure your plants are getting enough water they soak it up after 90. Good luck let me know how it goes! Oh and the plants will love the flors and they are cheap just make sure to get the 2 300watt lights most people dont use enough lumens or watts for floros and thats why i'm guessing most people dont like them.

before you take your plants outside take clones of each seed then label each plant and clone once you take these clones transplant your plant outside and then take those clones and switch the light cycle in the closet to a 12/12 each clone with sex and once this happens you will know what plants are males and what plants are females and you dont have to stunt the growth of the whole plant by sexing the whole thing. just sex the labeled clone. Oh and about toping them at 3 feet is a good idea i would try it on 1 or 2 i bend some over when they get to be about 5-6' tall

nice, its always good to see people giving great advice, I'm with this guy and the people who say to start it indoor and put out in spring. you'll get a bunch of monsters, maybe a lb or more a plant dry if done right in good conditions(places) +rep. enjoy your monster bushes. you'll shit your pants when you see how much bigger they are compared to under lights the full grow.

Cool all good info!

One more thing, can u really tell the sex of a seed?

And what is a good fertilizer to use?
feminized seeds are controversial, many swear by them and many say they are b.s. and much more likely to hermie, i like clones so I dont know for sure, ive never bought fem seeds.

Thats one of them chances that a grower take id rather just buy the seeds and then pick the males out as soon as you can tell sex always plant more than you wnat to make sure you get a descent amount of females good luck with your grow
