I need advice how to setup carbon filter in my wardrobe grow

Sorry if this has already been asked loads before. I have spent ages trawling through photos and explanations on this site but i just cant find what i need. Great site tho, dont get me wrong, im just a bit thick!

My first attempt failed as i burnt the plants so im chuffed to bits that my second grow is going well... so far! Only thing is i havent been able to set up the carbon filter yet. They now stink! (yummy :)) but its time to cover the smell.

Can someone please explain to me VERY SIMPLY, in an 'idiots guide' type way how set up the carbon filter.

my babies are now 4 and 6 weeks old but they were outside for the first 2wks. Looking ok? Any advice welcome?

Also do i need to fit the fans into the holes? will this stop the smell more?

Here's pics of my grow room and a similar carbon filter and fan to what i have. I also have silver tubing stuff. im so down with the lingo ;) ...

Thanks in advance, thicky green girrl :)

I was really worried about the sound, but with the wardrobe doors shut and the room door shut you can hear it stood outside the room but not a few steps away. and you cant hear it outside even with the window open.

I know understand how the filter works. I dont know how to hang it from the top of the wardrobe? What do you attach the chains to?

Thanks again for all the advice.

If the wardrobe is made of wood, you can probably just screw a couple of hooks into the frame and hang the filter off that.

Ok, the filters up and running. I used a couple of massive hooks and it looks safe. it works so well! :)

I now need some advice on how to use terra flora. Ive been given some and havent got a clue how to see it. Im guessing 1 part terra flora 3 parts water, something like that?

2 of my girls are 5 weeks old, the other 2 are 7 weeks. but they both were outside until 3 weeks ago. They are flowering beautifully and growing rapidly. I guess this is the flowering phase?!? (is this the same as blooming?)

How long is the budding phase?

thanks again guys, greengirl

it's also strange cos each pair has one massive plant and one small one. You can see what i mean from the pics...

the two on the left are the 7wk old lowryers, and the two on the right are 5wk old orange bud. Anyone know why the huge difference in growth??

the 2nd pic is the biggest lowryder, looking beautiful :) the last 2 are the big orange one. it has yellow tips, im just looking up what thats about.

Here are pics of my girls, one wk on from the last pics (from proud mother:bigjoint:)...

Did the terra flores not come in a bottle with instructions on how much to dilute it? You could probably go to the manufacturers website and find it, otherwise email them unless someone on here uses it and knows. I wouldn't just guess, it could be way off. My nutrients are diluted 1:500 for veg and 1:250 flower, but different makers give different concentrations. Whatever it says, don't start at more than half strength, more like a quarter if the plants are small, and gradually build the level up as long as you see no signs of nute burn.
Flowering, budding and blooming all mean the same thing, yes. How long have they been getting 12 hours of darkness? I'd say 1-2 weeks by the pics but I could be wrong.
The length of the budding phase depends on the strain, usually about 8-10 weeks for indica, up to 16 for some sativas.

Hi Hairy Bob. yeah they've beenon 12/12 light for 3 wks now. i really should be writing i all down as i go along! im certainly learning alot.

thanks, yep i found out how much they need: 50ml to 10l water. but, like u said... starting them on a quarter of that. how often should i up the amount? will keep close eye on them next few days.

Ive had to remove the drawers from bottom of wardrobe today cos the 2 big girls are so tall! will update pics soon.

See, another thing i misunderstood was 8wks from budding, not from seed. have to add another month which i didnt realise. Ive read they need 12-13 wks! Trouble is im goin away for a wk 10 august! worried they wont be ready by then. any way i can speed things up?

Oh, and am i doin the right thing by giving them 12/12 light? thats another thing i havent been able to make sense of. trouble is the filter fan is so loud i cant have it on much longer, cos ppl being around. *problems prolems!*

must have a joint to calm me down ;) thanks again

Here are latest photos: the orange bud is aprox 6wks and the ak47's are 8 wks old.

I have also realised i have 3 strains. the big and medium sized ones are orange bud. the tallest budding one is ak47 #2 and the smallest plants is ak47 which is only meant to grow small and bushy (or viceversa), so thats ok!

I also topped the orange buds today. not sure why, someone convinced me it was good idea? so fingers crossed it'll work!

sorry crap quality pics hope to borrow proper camera soon.

How often you up the dosage depends on how the plants are reacting to the feed. If the lower leaves start yellowing, or if they show signs of deficiency (and the pH is ok) then up the dose. If you start seeing nute burn on the tips, back off a little. With mine it's usually about every week for the first 5 weeks, then full strength for the last 3, but it depends on your strain, among other things.
The length of time the plant requires to flower is genetic, and can't be shortened. It can take longer if the plant is subjected to stress, but that doesn't help you.
12/12 is the correct light cycle for flowering, yes.
It's pretty late to start topping, plants don't appreciate stress during flowering, I'd keep an eye out for balls appearing if I were you. Not particularly likely, but be vigilant.
Topping is normally done during the early stages of veg, when the plant is around 5-6 nodes tall. You'd cut off everything above the second pair of nodes, then veg for a few more weeks before flowering, to produce 4 main colas. For more info on topping, see this guide https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/151706-uncle-bens-topping-technique-get.html

Yep i think the small one has a bit of nute burn so ill lay of it. only been feeding them a quarter strength every few days. the others seem ok. They are getting SO BIG NOW! especially the orange bud. i didnt realise how big theyd get! ive had to put a net up now to stop them gettin close to the light. I think the ak47's are almost ready now!!!

yeah i made a mistake with the topping. they are fine tho. Im learning so much with this grow! thanks again for all the advice.

Another question... They ARE STINKING TO HIGH HEAVEN AGAIN! How can i make the wardrobe smell proof? what material do i use to fill the gaps in around the doors? ALso i have a hole round the little fan at the bottom to let the cold air in. how can i stop the smell escaping here but still let the air flow in?

thanks again guys :)

heres some new pics from few days ago. Theyve grown loads since then! will upload more soon.
