Dude, with a lot of planning you could have a sick grow. To say that a 4-6000 watt grow will alert the authorities is ridonkculous. Another thing, as far as energy spikes, i could live in a house for 2 years and live like a meiser. When I move out the new tenant could be a energy hog. Does that mean or justify a visit from the electric company? NOPE! Thermal imaging and energy use to a degree are NOT reasons people get busted. Like mentioned before, it's BIG mouths. There are lots of haters on here that get mad at people who have balls and go for it. I say go for it. I would tone the numbers down a little but go for it.
One thing to consider is the cultivation laws for your state. Maryland's law for cultivation is "anything under 50 pounds is a felony and punishable UP TO 5 years in prison." If you have no other convictions, you will probably be looking at probation with a high end lawyer.
Each 1000 watt light equals roughly $40/month. With a little ingenuity this could work easily. GL

Just remember this PuffPuff, if... for what ever reason you get pinched, the 5.0 will weigh pot, soil and plant. So if you have 40 plants that are in 3 to 5 gal pots with wet soil and a full grown plant.. you better hope they weigh less than 10lbs each because if it's over 50lbs you'll get a MMS sentance of 5 years and a $100k fine. Mandatory minimum sentence!! My friend got lucky!!!! he was 30 something 5 gal pots @ approx 47lbs and his fine was well over $5k and it's a fellony charge. 1st offence the guy only had like 5 speeding tickets his whole life. That felony never ever ever goes away. I assure you I'm not mad or jelous in anyway that you want to grow 50, you could want to grow 500 what ever floats your boat, different strokes for different folks. would I grow bigger?? yep. if I had the space. Would I be cautious yep!! We "haters" are not mad that you want to grow big or have bigger balls than me. lol thats just a supid comment to make. This aint a pissing match. If they weighed it in your buddies case, he should have saved his dough and got a paid lawyer instead of a public defender. That's why he's in the clink, fucking rookie. Your the one in the dark. They yank the plants, root ball and all then weigh them. The cops do not take the time to dry, trim and cure our conficated plants before weighing them.
You live like cheap then move out and someone else moves in using lots of power. LMAO, um the name would change on the account. You live in the same house, bill under the same name and get a 1600-2000kw spike on a consistant basis on your bill. Chances are a ball will start rolling. i personally have a 10k light setup and had it for 2 grows. just get your bill paid on time and youll be fine.

Sorry if I sound stupid, but they did weigh the entire collection. The 5.0 didn't really have the courtesy or feel the need to remove each plant from the pot b4 they weighed them. And please tell me why they would do that? I've got to hear this from the expert. If you did any reasearch at all you would find that everything connected to the plant is weighed haha. How do I know this "fact" I build ratrods with a LEO of a federial agency who does this on a regular bassis. Makes me Ill but I grew up with the guy and have known him for 36 years. So they might of removed the weight of the pot in the end? But not the soil. Please enlighten us with your expertiese in these matters...
And not a public defender, like I said he spent $7k. Maybe a public defender would have done a better job? I don't know all the tiny details of the hearing but I do know what dude told me. The judge asked him why he had 47lbs of marijuana in his home. rebuttal... it's not 47lbs of marijuana, it's soil, water and misc. Judge says. I'll ask you again.. why did you have 47lbs of MJ in your home. And why do you think I'm trying to scare anyone? You've got a real problem thinking that kind of thing about someone that is just passing along factual information. I'm thinking you need a little more puff puff and a lot less sniff sniff.

PuffPuff, this will be my last post to you, and I'm sorry if you think I was trying to scare you. I really wasn't. But I never want to see anything bad happen to anyone for growing any amount of MJ on this board. Bad things can come from just overlooking the simpleist thing as being unaware that the EC has red flags for the dumbest shit!! Or having a package delivered to your home and catching a wiff. Have you thought about a light mover??
I am currently in a space about that size. I use a light mover and so far I like the results and I don't have heat problems. I feel like light movers allow you to keep the lights very close and maximize your space. But I do realize that your lights are not over the plants at all times, but I also think being able to keep the lights so close without burning them helps compensate. Worth looking into. I use the light rail 5. They are pricey but worth it when you consider the cost of extra electricity, fans, ballasts, bulbs, and hoods.
I could easily get 100+ plants in this space in hydro/aero systems without having to jack my electricity bill or my room temps. If it was all soil I estimate I could cover about 50 5gal pots in my space without too much compromising. I would eventually like to get a MH bulb in the middle of my rail and make it a 3k dual spectrum grow. My mover will support 3 lights.
Eventually I will be adding several DIY aeroponic bins. Check my sig to see my light mover set up.

it's a risk no matter how much your growing bro, make the most of it. i would do 8 750w for the first pull then cut the grow in half for the following grows.
