I'm going to start a new grow room. Im going to do it with T5HO for veg 4ft8 back, and also (but appropriate spectrum) for flowering.
I am building a room with 20in on top for a 2in think t5 fixture. Imagine one gallon pots that are about 6 inches tall. That gave me 16 inches max of growing room but I like to grow very short squaty plant. I have always vegged under t5 even when I flowered under 600 watt high pressure sodium.
Nex t the bottom chamber is about 3.5 ft tall; 8in pots (white squares) and a net for Scrog about 14in from bottom. That's about 6in of growth room and then 4ftx3.5ft of srcog net. My purpose being for this is I'm going to flower under t5HOs. My understanding is they (t5) only have about 2 to 3 inches of good penetration so by the time the flowers stretch for 3 weeks, and fill my net keeping the light 3in from just the colas shouldn't be a problem.
Of course with a 4inch centrifugal fan and a fresh filter sucking air from the inside and pushing it out will take care of my heat and the smell. I will have oscillating fans and everything on timers I'm going to try soil organic with this mess befor I even throw my hydro stuff in.
Any good ideas on a good strain? One that is squat and it's ok in low light conditions but flowers in seven to eight weeks?
Also I have never mess with auto flower- have one chamber but does autoflower even compare
Please I'm not a newbie, i used to have a $15,000 Gro room and loss it to a girl, not sweet old maryjane but my ex. I have prepared everything I have for free and it's going to be tough to keep it going so any ideas on how to do this are very much appreciated. Thank you
