The one thing I will not do without are bloom boosters/carbs/bennies(also Mammoth P) and hygeia hydration.
Been growing MJ for over 40 years..
Bloom boosters are not needed! If you can feed a strain with a proper balance of nutrients, you don't need them at all. Many will decrease run times and speed up ripening. Your losing potential!
High levels of some nutrient compounds lower your potency (the same is true for minerals or micro nutes - not generally delivered by boosters). These are delivered by boosters.....I
respect your grows but, one shouldn't fall for nutrient maker hype.....
Take a look at my journal - the "challenge" one. These are water only organic run strains.....They set in several different bloom soils.....They get no "boost", and MJ doesn't need one nor does it improve it if you grow near the plants intake limits....
I have to disagree with Mammoth P use! You can do the same by brewing an AACT (simple bennies tea) and not pay their
staggeringly stupid price for things you can make yourself!
BTW, my organic girls, get this stuff mixed in normal watering every 3 weeks.....
I gotta ask. What carbs (source)? It should be explained that the most carbs do is to feed the living bennies in the soil. And then, only certain one's. If you run in soil, real soil. You really don't need to add bennies. Their in the soil and will grow as you water. Synthetic use does starve them pretty good. Some can die but many go dormant.....By adding carbs your feeding the bennies and keeping them active.... The claims that carbs are up-taken and used by the plant are suspect at best. The plant does not take up carbs (by an extremely vast majority of carb compounds). It makes them internally.....
As far as the Yucca based Nectar of the gods stuff.......Why? Your soil or media have a problem holding moisture.
It's far better to water more often then to water huge amounts and let it sit for days on end.....
As far as the chelating agent in the yucca. What is that really doing for already chelated synthetic nutrients?
The idea of it is great but, a good soil to start. Doesn't need, or really benefit from that much.....
I know I sound negative, and I'm not meaning to insulting your choice's! I'm sure your result's make you happy but, I'll say you don't need those to do well, and that's my only point.
Sometimes us old fart's. Raise an eyebrow to grow shop owners and their trait of suggesting certain product's.....I mean we never had all that fancy bottles with cartoon characters and such, on them.
I still do some synthetic running. I like a certain line and only use the base and bloom. You adjust amounts as needed and I only supplement Mg sulfate and/or K slufate formulations I make myself for seriously less then name brand formulations. These do include a carb source for the bennies to increase availability by increasing living bio activity...These are only used at set times and dropped early to not inhibit THC production.
I
applaud your desire to help! I just have reservations on boosting and certain product use.... Less is more!
I'll also say that the use of such things in proper ways, Can, and do
work.....You tend to have to learn how to change the feeding charts to make it work best.
I'd rather focus on reaching all potentials..
Please don't take offence to my post, as none is intended! I'm blunt and some don't take to that well.
Peace on and post on!
