I think flushing is a myth heres why

if u dont flush ur a dumb ass period... 2 weeks flush heavy flush so plants sweat out nutes liike we do toxins to. slow controlled dry to evap. chloraphyll.. long cure to fully remove chloraphyll and enhance terpens for flavor... noobs donno better

Oh and I've always flushed because that's how I was taught to grow. Doesn't mean I'll ignore scientific evidence when it's laid out infront of me. I'll be skipping the flush on this harvest and testing this myself.

I like you a lot bro, but we'll have to agree to disagree here.
My position is flushing is not scientifically proven to do anything.
If somebody wants to flush I say go for it and do what feels right, but my opposition to it is it cannot work as many people think it can - that's a proven fact.

Again though, I don't think a 3-5 day pre-harvest flush will hurt anything, but it's not a magic elixir that rids plants of chemicals and excess nutes they wouldn't have absorbed/used anyway during that period.

The cure is where it's at wherein the Chlorophyll gets broken down (not evaporated - it's a pigment not a liquid) thus removing that nasty "Hay" taste/smell plus the chemical conversions that are happening as well.

"Naturally, as the metabolic processes continue during curing, the conversion of cannabergerol to tetrahydrocannabinol will continue and the potency of the pot will increase. This is because cannabergerol (CBG) is the non-psychoactive precursor for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Just gotta give you a little shit, Im baked as hell right now so I am liable to do the same thing. But I am in the flushing camp, but I don't do the 3x the container shit unless I have to much salt builtup in my soil. I just do not feed them anything the last 1-2 weeks. Call me stupid but I really like to see the secondary/carotenoid colors of the plant come through in this stage, its purty. If it gets me less smoke so be it but it seems to smoke smoother the more faded the plant is, just my unscientific observation. To be perfectly honest what GNW posted made total sense but like I said faded out bud tastes better to me than not flushed.

Again, not trying to poke at anyone - but it's all there.
 
Senescence was the word I was looking for....
I like for my plant to go through this before I smoke it, I understand what dude was saying but at the end of the plants life it should be dieing off not trying to grow still.

as long as my roots are in fertile soil it will eat.
Some amendments will not flush from soil in a month of sundays
 
I read about it in Robert Connell Clarke's book, but didnt remember the exact term I was trying to think of till I had typed all that lol. But as soon as I read about it flushing kinda started to make more sense, that is why I try to do it subtly because you can shock the plant like dude you quoted was talking about. Hence why when you do a hard flush you are supposed to pour a low dosage of nutes back in at the end of the flush or you just end up starving the plant, and as you stated before in organics flushing is just about impossible if you are doing real organics.

That's me - Organic, just cause like I like it like that so I don't have any hands on experience with Chemical Fert's.
But I have a pretty good libary, read a lot and will listen to anyone whom know's their stuff and can provide citations.

I'm in this for the fun, not the fight.
 
ahhhh i see whats going on now... trust me u have to flush chem nutes.. organic nutes u cant soo much but they have carbon molecules so they break down the heavy metals and shit in salt ferts must be flushed or ull get headaches dirty burning ash and harsh smoke that burns ur throat lungs an nose that makes u wanna sneeze
