I think my plant was slightly pollinated...

I picked a late hermi out of my flowering room....it had hanging bananas under a few of the buds, some looked open.

2 weeks later I'm seeing 3 extra large calyxes on my plant, looking like they have a seed in them. the hairs are barely out of the calyx and its FAT, 4x the size of the tiny ones around it.


If only a few pistils are hit by pollen will the entire plant still get seeds? or just the pollinated areas of it?

If the plant is pollinated by the male it will grow seeds until it dies. Your females, however have to have hair to be pollinated, So if you have no hair on your women it will be OK. If there are obvious seed pouches you are to late.

I dont understand, you said they have to have their hair pollinated. so each individual calyx needs to be pollinated for them to have mass seeds?

lets say I rub pollen on 1 bud, but not the rest of them, will just that bud be pollinated?

I'm no professional, but I think you are correct in the assumption that if you rub one pollen on one bud, only that area will have seeds. So if your plants were only very lightly pollinated before you pulled the hermie, you might have some seeds, but not nearly as many as if you caught the hermie later on.

2nd that. I've heard of collecting pollen and then just dusting a section of the plant to continue breeding.
Believe it was fdd who saves a ton of pollen, and reproduces at will.

It really depends ... I've heard of growers saving small vials of pollen and successfully pollinating one nug only, or one section. But this is very risky, as you are now handling many microscopic particles, and all it takes is for one of those particles to hit a nug and it can stimulate seed production. So if it spilled or got mixed up and a small qty floated into the air, you'd be shocked at how fast it can pollinate the rest of your room.

On the other hand, I have also heard of something having just a little bit of pollen release in one section, and it caused an entire room to seed. Basically set off a chain reaction, as it looked the ones closer to the orig hermie started seeding first.
