I Thought Plants Normally Grew a Bit Quicker in their First Week than This--Pics

Hey Guys,

This is a Lowryder #2 plant growing under CFLs.

It is currently sitting under a 250w CFL (flowering spectrum, I had GREAT results 2 years ago growing Lowryder without a veg lamp).

The temperature is ranging from 79-84 F and the humidity is sitting at about 35%. The plant is about 6-7 days from sprouting.

I was under the impression that plants normally grow a bit quicker in the first week? Atleast last time I grew Lowryder the leaves seemed to grow quite quickly at first.

In a 24 hour period I have witnessed almost no change in the plant, I've attached a picture from yesterday and today at exactly the same time. Can you guess which one is which? (one is zoomed in so looks a bit bigger, but in person I can't see any change and I am slightly worried, at this stage I thought they normally show quite a bit of change even over 24 hour periods.)

Also, does anyone know what kind of light schedules to use for Lowryder? I've seen people say do 18/6 and then 12/12 but also seen people say to just give it 24 hour light until you move to 12/12.

i would just stick to 18/6 then 12/12 to flower

you could do 24/7 for the first 1-2 weeks thats what i did but i probs will go 20/4 for the first 2 weeks next then to to 18/6

you don't have to move to 12/12 for an autoflowering plant. The plant will move into flowering on its own. As recommended by many growers to me the ideal light schedule for autos are 18/6. Good luck man, that much light for that little guy and you should have a fun harvest.

I have another 250w as well, not plugged it in yet though. Would be 500w for just one plant if I did. Is it worth plugging it in when it gets bigger? Maybe I can hang it vertically to get more light lower down

It looks like it has some nute issue, the leaves are clawing down. Search on what it means.
Beside that it looks perfectly normal.

OP what medium are you using, whats your watering schedule?

Overwartering + MG Soil = 0417 B.JPG@ 17 Days! (Oh and I threw heat at this plant for good measure)

Plants always grow slowly in the first week. Their growth increases exponentially with time. (the more leaves for photosynthesis, the more it can grow). Also keep in mind that marijuana grows naturally with its watering schedule. I know with mine, I water every third day. I let the soil dry out and right before they start to droop, I give them a big watering which they love and I'll see a burst of growth.

Also, listen to prototypeone. He's giving you good advice

Dand this is an old thread, i wish RIU would put more releveant threads at the bottom of each page. Anyhow, Lowryder is an Auto-Flowering Plant, meaning you dont want to run the lights at 12/12 and actually doing so will stunt its growth. Just run the lights all the time, and it will do fine. Hence the name AUTO_FLOWER
