Ok I have a problem, I have about 50 little flyin insects, they live in the table amongst the hydro stones, I tried pest strips, spray they just fly away when the table gets flooded and go back in the stones when the water level is down.... Is there anybody out there that ran into them little pesky flying bugs and got rid of them, any help on what product I need to be lookin for?????

Haha read my grow journal. I know all about the little bastards and their cousin the fruit fly. GRR I hate them and feel your pain! I got so frustrated with them that I transplanted and washed the roots. Neem helps keep them off the leaf but not the roots. They live anywhere smelly too like sinks, wet washcloths /towels food, rotting wood, in my food, up my nose and next to windows for some reason. They're very stupid though. Kill the adults and treat the roots. They aren't too bad in small amounts but get crazy FAST eating up roots causing damage and rot. Check out my pics from first transplant.

Edit*they're stupid because you can kill them by leaving out almost any liquid. They like applecider vinegar try to draw the adults away into that. Put Saran wrap over it with small holes poked in. They climb in and can't find their way out.-I still see 2-3 every day fly around, just clap them out of the air. Good luck!

Dude, there's these things called mosquito dunks...It's really just some bacteria that fucks with the reproductive cycle. Break one up into pieces, put most of it in your reservoir...After it's mostly dissolved(there might be some bits that DON'T dissolve, no worries), just flood as normal, and take some of the water and run it through the top of the medium too, completely wetting every bit of hydroton.

But wouldn't that kill my plants as well, I mean is this poison? If I put it in the res and flood the table when i feed my girls, wouldn't my plants die from sucking up the mosquito dunks? Or is it safe for my baby girls and deadly for those flying fuckers????

Cleanliness is a must. I always have a spray bottle with a few drops of bleach and spray my area every other day (do not get it on your plants) but the top of your medium is fine to mist, neem oil and a drop of dish soap in a spray bottle with water to spray the plant. I do it twice a month during veg. Hang fly paper. Let your medium dry out completely before waterings to kill larvae. They love anything moist. Find the source and remove it if you have to. From my experience they will never fully go away. I put lemon peels in my room too they hate citrus. That's about all I know lol. Still struggling with them but they're no longer destroying my roots because they can't make it down to the reservoir. I wont use soil again and am going dwc.
