I love my dog, but getting a dog neutered is a must. Especially if they are pitbulls. My boy got neutered on Wednesday and I think it hurt him more than it hurt me. He is as crazy as ever and I have to make hom
lay down and be calm cause he had surgery.

This is my best friend

And Roxxy ,
I got her from a friend that house got forclosed. He couldn't keep her any more so i offered to take her since I've been around when he first got her at 6 weeks old. He lived right down the street from me so I basically watched her grow up..

Inseparable ...

So both of my dogs are rescued one way or another

Thanks man , that's the collar the guy had on him when I got him.
I stay away from those collars I read about them getting stuck on nails and other dogs while playing, and the dogs end up getting strangled.

I went and got them both heavy duty harnesses

Here are two of many of my rescues. The choc.lab is indeed missing a front leg. We got him from the shelter when he still had stitches and staples about five years ago. The Germ.Shep. we got as a puppy from someone on hard times and could not care for it.

I have two pitbulls they had one altercation before when I first got my puppy. I got him from somebody that's known to fight dogs , gave him $200 just to get the dog as far away from him as possible. I hate people that fight pitbulls with a Passion...
I just caught that. GOOD MAN SIR! I do not believe in bad breeds, but bad owners. I will say a pit bull on the loose does make me nervous because you don't know how it was raised. I live in a small town and a stray pit walked up to me and my kids. I pulled my .45 on it before realizing it was just an older bitch. All it wanted was to say hello and get petted. She was missing most of her teeth due to age and was just a docile lovey animal...But you never know, and it is never the dogs fault. It is the bastard that made the dog mean.

95% of pits are no threat to humans. It's the assholes who fight them for sport who make them untrustworthy! Isn't the NFL enough? Or Nascar? Boxing, Ultimate Fighting?

I almost started a new thread on this... those commercials really break my heart. im a big hairy guy and they still get to me! my girl and i usually try to change the commercial cuz it makes us upset. Its a shame that some people treat those poor animals so bad that they have to make everyone watch those to get to the bad people. which probably does nothing if they already dont care. im all about saving animals but these commercials can seriously spark some deep depression. not good.

fuck shock commercials that prey on human emotion. and that FUCKING song.

there was a commercial a few months back with a much better approach. it was to encourage people to get pets from shelters and it showed all these happy puppies hopping around and the message was, "you too can have this". much better and i didn't want to change the channel. it was during some kind of event, maybe the baseball playoffs or the world series.

Sometimes People need to have that shoved in their faces in an overly sentimental manner... I mean if we all just changed the channel no one would feel inclined to do anything because it's 'too sad' to acknowledge. The suffering makes me sad, too but they do these commercials for a reason... To spur people into action. Yes it is meant to play on your emotions, because we should listen to them from time to time. It can be a killjoy but we can't always live in a happy bubble when there is much to be done in the world :/ I saw an ad for Redwings Horse Sanctuary and saw some horrible neglect cases on Aninal Hospital when I was really small, and have since worked with horses including rescue cases from the blue cross as part of a charity for years since.

But it is nice to see the positive ads too.. Like the NCDL ads that show sad dogs in the beginning then happy adopted/sponsored dogs at the end, though I though the beginning wasnt stark or shocking enough to make people see the reality. People often think its 'never that bad'.
