I WANNA GROW BUT DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START

I really want to start growing, my friend accidentally dropped a nug into a pot by his window and it just so happened to sprout and now he has 4 mason jars full of pretty ok bud. If he can do that on accident so I'm thinking if I actually try how good would it be.

Right now where I live its about to be winter and our winters drop to normally 22F on really cold days, so I know i'll need to keep it indoors.

other than that what strains would be good for a first time grower
could I just set it on my window seal before i leave for class every day and that would be good lighting, or should i get a light.
should i do a grow box, is that wise or just go as i learn
how much water a day
soil type

anything and everything would help me start this journey
Get yourself books on growing and read them. Grow an African violet. If you can get that to bloom - you'll be able to grow weed.

there are a lot of good websites, you just have to go to more than one of them and read everything you can, and try to use the conflicting information to draw a close to realistic picture.
i haven't seen all the books out there about growing weed, but the ones i have seen have been shit, wrong info, shameless product pushing, just general bad advice. people who grow don't usually have time to write a book.

Like rosey said above hands on is the best policy to learn IMO ....just get going and that's how you learn and the KISS method is the best method still use it to this day cause it works so well after many many years .....look into fox farms nutrients I recommend you do there big three to begin with it's very easy and you can grow incredible dank with it .....it's what I started with ....just tag me or PM me if you need help .....and take a breath and chill it's a fun hobby and me and other people can show you how simple it can be it's not rocket science at all .....I wish you would have done a outdoor run to familiarize yourself with the plant ....but it's all good

-5c aint that bad

a plastic tent and you should be able to grow in winter

if you can get power to it then a small electric green house heater will get you more gpw outside than any growlight inside will ever get you

winter or not the sun and the air outside is free

do a nice outdoor grow learn how to kill bugs and deal with issues

build yourself a small veg box inside

like 50cm x 50cm and 60 to 100cm high is all you need

with 2 to 4 18 to 30w cfls

veg some plants inside, grow some outside

get some autos so you know they will flower small

get some photos you can start them flowering in your box and pot them up outside

once you get a plant to go into flowering and enjoy it

then you can get a 1m x 1m area or 2m x 2m are or bigger going inside as its not really worth doing a micro grow unless you have no other choice

That or just build a flowering chamber inside

or yeah some c99 fem`d seeds or an auto in a 1 to 5 gallon pot on your window will give you an idea its winter and its airflow won`t be great but you`ll get a feel for what growing is like

I would do this if I were you.. this is the simplest way to grow an oz in 90 days of fantastic smoke and these plants are stupid easy to grow and very very very forgiving.

get yourself a seed of Nirvanas auto bubbleicious...

Put germ'd seed into a 3-3.5 gallon container full of fox farm ocean forest soil

grow under a 180 watt ufo grow light.

only use water and water it every 3-5 days until you see white female hairs.

start using 1/2 stength fox farm tiger bloom.

1 week before harvest flush with water.

harvest

The light , soil, nutrient , seed will cost you less than 150$

after spending the initial 150$ you can do many more grows for the cost of a seed or clone.

you'll be shocked how much better the weed is then stuff u pay 20 a gram for.

simple and amazing

thank you all! I bought the seeds this morning, i bought 3 landysh feminized seeds from seedsupreme, while I wait I'm gonna get the set up, I'm gonna get some of those things to hang my light on and put it on the ceiling, put some panda film and cut an area where I can put a zipper on it so I will have easy access to. I plan on just putting them in red solo cups at first until i get a sprout then move them to 5 gallon buckets. I'm using just water in the first stage with a 3 day water cycle, then after the first stage gonna mix some nutrients and water in a bottle and water one day with that , 2nd day just water, and 3rd day no water. when it comes to water I'm gonna put a 5 gallon bucket outside and just use rain water, I will test the PH in the rain water before putting it in the soil. my lighting is gonna be 12/12 for the first stage then 2nd stage 20/4 , after that i'm gonna switch it to 24/0 using an LED light with 3 of the small AC infinity fans inside.

You have your lighting times on/off backwards.

24/0 should be first. 12/12 is last

Hi Pot....I grew Landysh this year and you can see pictures of it on my post in the 2016 grow. If you are new to growing, get a moisture meter on ebay for $10 and give it water when it needs it....Also, watch bugs...bud worms/caterpillars to be specific, they love the fricken landysh.....its the ribeye steak of pot for them. Pest management FYI. Great buz, nice plant.
