the population of Saskatoon is 246,000+
divide that by 7 and that's 35,196. if 10% of your population smokes weed, that's 3500 people a day through each retail store......even if they only come once a week, that's 583 per day, if you're closed one day a week. 5 customers taken care of every 6 minutes, all day, 12 hours a day. if you stayed open 16 hours a day, you could give each customer a full 90 seconds of attention.....
who makes up these rules? have any of them ever smoked weed? do they have the faintest conception of the reality looming on the horizon?
could they even manage a waffle house? it doesn't seem like it

This all assuming those 3500 people a day are evenly distributed amongst the 7 stores too. or that 3500 people will purchase on the daily like clockwork without fluctuation. So a best case scenario.

3500 a week, 583 a day, 90 seconds per customer if you're open from 8 am till midnight 6 days a week. if you had 2 registers, with three cashiers, one restocking and cleaning, then giving the other two breaks, so the registers could stay open constantly, that's three minutes per transaction. you have to have at least one other person restocking your shelves and display cases, cleaning finger prints off things, sweeping the floor, all that good stuff. then you have to have at least three sales people, bud-tenders, w/e you wanna call them. and a manager to keep things going, get change, do paper work, fill in for "sick" employees.....so you could keep two shifts of 8 people busy all day every day.

Heres the thing, those numbers will NEVER be constant. These are all best case scenario, so the math is wildly inaccurate. I get what you're saying though.

well of course people aren't going to trickle in in a steady stream all day, you're going to get dead spots and huge rushes, i was just trying to illustrate the sheer number of people that would be trying to utilize each shop at a ratio of 7 shops to 246,000 people. and i don't know if there is a delivery system in place, which could help alleviate some of the crowding.
the real point was that who ever is making these rules obviously hasn't given it any real thought. think of it like the retail business it's intended to be. the only way 7 shops can realistically serve that many customers is if each one is huge, with 20ish employees each, per shift.

You just described every liquor and beer store in Ontario. Highest paid retail job, crown corp.
