I want feedback from those who exhaust through their filter!

I know I know....its an endless debate on "its more efficient if its inside the grow space"

But from the video i saw, they were interviewing a rep from CAN-Filters and he said that it is no problem to exhaust through the filter. All you have to do is take off the pre-filter and put it before the fan. What does that mean? On Icmag someone said you line the inside of the filter with the pre-filter....but i dot see how that would work.

Anyways, since CAN-Filter reps say it works, I want to hear from the people that DO exhaust through their filter.

How long does it last? What fan/filter combo are you running?

I Exhaust through a Can 100 using a Can 8" HO. All I did was mount the Can Fan on top of the Filter so that it pulls air through the scrubber nothing extra required. Is this what you're refering to? It works great from me, I have way to strong of a Fan for my area and keep it on a variable speed controller at the lowest setting. I'm using this in conjuction wtih a Homebox XL, Air Cooled Reflector, and 600W MH. Keeps the Hombox at about 71-73.

Im talking about running the filter outside of the grow space and pushing the air through it. I believe your sucking your air in throught he scrubber and blowing it out as exhaust.

Im lookin for the people that run the filter outside the room and blow the air out of it.

No my filter is outside of the grow space like this: Scrubber<---Fan<---Ducting<----Hood(open end of hood)

I exhuast through the scrubber do not intake through it. My intake is an open end of the reflector or hood. You lose a considerable amount of CFM's like this however I have such an oversized fan for my area I can get away with this.

Oh, sorry i misread your post. How well does it do with odor? How many plants are usually flowering?

Thats what im thinking. Maybe ill just have to find out for myself!

If what DDub says it right about the CFM's then it should work well for me. Im running a 4" Vortex fan and my CAN 2600 is rated for alot less then what the vortex puts out

Without a doubt there is no better way to learn than to just try it on your own.

Can 2600 Filter: 94cfm
Vortex 4": 172cfm

You will be fine assuming your grow area isn't to large...

Nope, its 2' 1/2"x1'4"x3' 1/2"

it fits right in my closet!

ALSO, did you just leave the pre-filter on the filter or did you put it inside the filter?

this is some what of the same thing i was refering to in the thread i started and you just come in talking shit and you could really help me it looks like you can answer 1 mans ? But be an asshole to the next? Funny how that works
