I think you're using two different sets of standards for Christianity and Islam because one has run through the gauntlet of western civilization for a couple thousand years and developed a cushy makeover for the 21st century while the other is still very much in its openly barbaric phase. You go back just a few hundred years and Christianity was exactly the same.
I disagree. The are millions of devout, faithful, practicing Muslims here in America and around the world who accept the local law of the land as their law, and obey everything from human rights to traffic signals because it's the right thing to do... in other words, the decision of a few barbaric monsters to use Islam as a cover for their terrorist activities has nothing to do with the practice of that religion for everyone.
We have plenty of Christians who kill in the name of doing abortions, as insane as it sounds, it's exactly the same thing.
You can't call one religion more barbaric than the other, only the activities of the individuals who would use it as their excuse.
