do you also drink the water after the mix, does it stay at the ph you drop it to or does it work back up over time

i caught about 200 gallons of rain water in the past 2 months and after a couple days my containers had a green slime ring around it,checked ph got 7.5 ppm at 200

0 is the best place to start for any and all hydro or synthetic runs....
I prefer rain water in my Organic soil......I don't care what the pH or ppm is for for that.....I can't maintain enough so ---
I do have a well and RO that to a 55 gal tank with bubbling air stones.....ALL condensate is returned to the tank and used from the air con and the dehumidifier.
Blow by from the RO is collected and redirected to pens for animal use......No waste.

I have ppm of 180 mostly. Plants don't mind it. My first grow I carted ro water to them. I stopped about 5 grows ago. They have done fine with my hard water, if u do go with RO water, make sure u have some CalMg

I have checked and checked again and the PPM of my water is 0 PPM. I have a good calibrated blue lab ppm pen and ph pen. The PPM consistantly reads 0 on my tap water. It only starts to show a teading when I add things to the water. The PH reads high though about 8.2
I guess a zero PPM is a good thing for city water.

The pin always read 0 ppm on 500scale if the water is in the lower side of 0.2 ec and start reading in ppm in the high scale of 0.2 ec with me

I just add alittle bit more tap this time ill add more RO later on
But just to let u see here is my pen with different readings
So when you ppl in the US speaks about ppm and lets say you advise 150/200 ppm of start point water
Do you mean 200 ppm on 500scale or 700 scale
Which scale do ppl in the US use??!

And here on the 700 scale
So any clarification would be helpfhll guys

Should I keep it then 2 or 3 ec guys.

Your starting EC is fine. My feeds start at a total of around 350PPM for first feeds and increase from there. I make my own medium with peat, organic compost and vermiculite and feed like it's hydro. But with a slightly lower EC due to retention of the feed in the peat. My last feeds in veg are around 2.4 EC or 1200 PPM and no burn. Just very gradually raise that EC to allow the plant to increase its uptake.

Unfortunately I dont have this luxury.
My tap water is 0.4 ec 220\240ppm
I had always calmag def probleems when given tap water
My plants are much happier when I give cal\mag even if its in the same concentration of my tap water.
I think plants cant utilize my tap water good maybe the muscular size of my tap water is big that my plants cant use.
When I give calmag they always look much healthier.
Now I heard that H&G haven very high amounts of cal mag ( cal is around 12% of A)
Thats why they recommend to start with low ec which well be more convenient in my situation

Often the calcium and magnesium in tap water are large molecule and while this is nitpicking in chemistry you can't argue with the plants. Most nutes have Mg and Ca in them. It's just in what concentration? One Tums can feed 4 to 6 plants enough calcium to last a month.
