If a HID bulb bursts, will the breakers go off?

Usually a bulb wont burst due to overload. The only way a breaker will trip is if you're pulling too many amps on that particular breaker. A bulb receives relatively the same amount of electricity per second due to the ballast. If the bulb bursts, its probably becuase there was oily fingerprints on the bulb, or maybe water vapor. Fuses may be a different story, but either way, the breaker/fuse blowing and the bursting of the bulb will very unlikely occur at the same moment.

Sounds to me like the bulb burst and he is wondering if the breaker will shut off to remove the bulb. If thats the case....It might or might not trip the breaker. Now when you say burst...do you mean the glass breaking?

What other kind of burst is there?

Starburst /sarcasm, when bulbs do burst do they get all over the plants? I want to get a hid set up, but I'm a super huge klutz... Hmm

FYI if your bulb ever does burst...unplug your ballast from the outlet and then unplug your hood from your ballast and then use a half of a potato to get it out. I've done this with busted up light bulbs before.
