If the Sasquatch DNA results are verified it could have "Very Deep Philosophical implications".
A Texas veterinarian-researcher claims to have shown that the elusive creature known as Bigfootor Sasquatch is a human hybrid, descended from human females who mated with males of “an unknown hominin species.” In a statement released on Saturday, Melba S. Ketchum said that her conclusions emerged after she sequenced samples of purported Sasquatch DNA.
Judging on the basis of the information Ketchum and her team did release, at least one skeptic argued that the little bit known about DNA sequencing results didn’t necessarily indicate that an “unknown hominin” was involved at all. At NeuroLogicaBlog, Yale neurologist Dr. Steven Novella suggested that the samples that appeared to contain DNA from an unknown hominin may rather be contaminated samples from plain old modern humans. “The bottom line is this,” he wrote. “Human DNA plus some anomalies or unknowns does not equal an impossible human-ape hybrid. It equals human DNA plus some anomalies.”

But What If? What if Bubbles is right? What is all of these loons are onto something? To say the least I have my doubts, very strong doubts, and I find the "Finding Bigfoot" show to be incredibly boring and also the prospect of bigfoot to be dull, but lets have some fun and pretend bigfoot is real and proven true.
1) Should we tax the bigfoots? and if so, how much tax should they pay?
2) should we forcefully indoctrinate their youth in the public schooling system?
3) should we bomb them?
4) If a bigfoot starts using tools and wants to buy a gun, or any other object for that matter, should we restrict the ammount of objects they can insert into said object? Restrict the ergonamics?
5) If they come out of the woods and start wanting to work for a living should we make them get a visa? Would minimum wage laws apply to them? Do they need to get on a waiting list to become legal citizens?
6) is it okay to torture a bigfoot?
7)Do bigfoots have a right to trial?
does life, liberty, and the pursuit of happyness apply to bigfoots?
9)should we eat them? would eating them be forbidden? should they be allowed to eat us? How about they can only eat the politcians?
10) should they get support from the government? EBT? Grants?

All the sample tests showed fully modern human mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)of the types arising from Europe and the Middle East. At the same time all samples showed nuclear DNA that had some gene sequences in common with humans and certain other primates but also some sequences that matched nothing in the Genbank® all-species database. Ketchum's findings, if proved accurate, mean that we have company -- company that has for many generations been supremely independent of their small, weak, civilized cousins who have miserable night vision.
OK, I know there is inevitable smirking right about now so let's be a bit lighthearted here and consider:
1) Were Mongoloid Native Americans illegal aliens invading Bigfoot's territory?
2) If a Sasquatch "tribe" protests a dam project, would it have legal recourse?
3) Is Bigfoot a secret plot to advance Agenda 21?
4) Is Agenda 21 directed at restoring the territorial rights of Sasquatch?
5) If a man impregnates a Sasquatch, should he have parental rights?
6) Should Bigfoot be required to show proof of citizenship?
7) Where would we deport an illegal Sasquatch anyhow?
9) Or be ticketed for jaywalking?
10) Public nudity?
11) Will we have to build extra-sturdy jail cells to hold all the big, hairy scofflaws?
12) Will police need to carry an EXTRA-high-voltage taser?
OK, back to serious: There is bound to be a huge outcry from religious fundamentalists. Bigfoot is the AntiChrist or the spawn of Satan. A new target for the KKK. Some stuffed-shirt anthropologists will have heart attacks or commit suicide because their pet theories that have made it into textbooks will go out on the trash heap. Human exceptionalism will be taken down a few pegs. Natural rights theory will need to be reworked, expanded.
Of course these ideas have all been thought of before by a courageous few Sasquatch researchers (yes, I was one back in my younger days). Now, however, due to the implications of the Ketchum DNA study, we must all potentially face these questions in a serious manner.
Note to scoffers: You are not alone. The scientific community will be especially vicious in your behalf. However, Ketchum has received offers to re-test the samples from her study by other DNA researchers so the necessary process of scientifically verifying or debunking her work has begun.
I cannot give you Ketchum's paper, which is highly technical anyway. Like most scientific papers you can order it online for a fee. I'm just not sure where to order it though as it was sent to me for comment. There has been much criticism of the report, mainly by people who haven't read it, beginning months before its release. There is plenty to see by Googling "Ketchum Bigfoot," "Ketchum Sasquatch," or "Ketchum DNA.
