If Everybody Smoked the Green

Idk, have you ever thought of giving up all your technology? lol i think i would rather live in a hunter gatherer time period.
Do it now. Just the other day I saw 12 acres for sale. Deep woods type stuff. Not too deep you're about a 45 minute drive to a small town. Right near a huge amount of state land. Guy wanted $2000 down and 275 a month. Ply your woodsmen skills and sell 275 a month worth of stuff once your savings wear out. I would assume you would have to work a bit to save some cash to cover you. Would a chainsaw be too much technology for you?

I can only assume that you have gone camping before, caught some fish and maybe shot a deer or two, but to say that you would rather live in a period before technology makes me think you'd be dead within a week. It is not easy living off the land, even a seasoned hunter will tell you that, I would ask some of our resident smokers here who reside in Alaska or the Mojave how easy it would be to survive without the technology they enjoy today. This is not to say it can't be done, because of course we are the living proof it can be, I'm just pointing out the fact that today the average human is ill equipped for a true battle with nature.

You have a link? details?
As much as I would love to help you I simply cannot send the link. It was a craigslist add in the Northeast that much I will tell you. If I had my old job I would snatch it up. But there are lots of listing, some with 12x24 hunting camps already on them. One had a creek running through it. I was day dreaming of last years finances with this springs' finds. Good Luck.

Do you realize how easy surviving in the wilderness is for a human being? We are evolved by the elements of this universe to do so. I have thought about this shit longer than you little bogarts.

Thinking is not doing. I had to use an 0uthouse growing up while my father and his friend dug our leach fields by hand. Our wood came from the land behind our house. The first year they carried it in. De-limbed trunk one end in a wheelbarrow the other end carried by a man. I stacked 42-55 cord of wood each year. Twice, because we would move it from stacked pile to porch, stacked to dry in half to full cord amounts. My mother cooked venison and rabbits that my father or I killed. You keep thinking about it. I'll remember doing the stuff you dream of.

I remember using washed up catfish in the garden with my grandmother. She grew the best peas too. I'm guessing jr. here already knows about drying meat, canning, & dutch ovens.

holy bajebus! I can't even imagine 42-55 cords a year. I burn 8-15 of mostly hardwood. I know how much work it is.

55 was the highest, it only happened once. It sucked, by then the family split and I had to lose time stacking late in the year and digging out the last 5 by hand. Hand to have 10 delivered.

nope, never heard that. 4x4x8 is what I think of as a cord.

not a woodburnin aficionado quite yet. Only been burning wood for three seasons now.

Saved over 2000$ in propane over the last two seasons though:clap:
