If I knew then what I know now.

Greetings folks,
I'm new to the site but I'm absolutely loving the plethora of knowledge shared here.
I'm doing my very first grow this year in Georgia. Delay in seed delivery, but hoping to start soon. My specifics: 3 Auto Jack Herers, 1 Bud Bud Bling Tingz, 1 Free seed of their choosing, and a seed I surprisingly got out of some good highs. (No idea where it came from). All outside of course.
All of that being said, I thought it would be enlightening and appreciated by myself and many others to have all the veterans throw out some tips. What are some things you know now that you wish you would have known on your first grow?
Help us rookies have a successful first grow.
I'd love any advice pertaining to my strains and location specifically but overall for everyone as well.
Thanks in advance. Happy Growing!

Use huge puts or grow in ground. If it looks like too much soil, it's probably still not enough! 15 gallons is minimal for outdoors. 60-100 or more is where the real yields will be. Some people are using as much as 1000 gallon pots that are bigger than a king sized bed.

Stay on top of pest control from the beginning. Once you notice a problem, it could be too late. At the very least you will want BT during flowering for budworm prevention. They can destroy an entire crop before you know they are there, eating the buds from the inside out and shitting in them causing mold.

This is the type of information I'm talking about. I had plans to use 5 gallon pots and from what I had read so far, this was bigger than the recommended 3 gallon.
Looks like I have some shopping to do.
Thanks MJMama!

Those size pots are great for indoors but for outdoors it becomes a struggle just too keep your plants alive and watered in something so small. My first grow was 50 plants in small pots. I can pull more from 1 plant in a good size pot or in the ground.

Found some 25 gallon fabric pots on amazon for around $8 each. I think I'll go with that. I F'n love this site. Just goes to prove how awesome the cannabis family is. Any other forum seems to be an open floor for people to tell you how stupid you are and take shots at you. Good vibes. Keepin it casual.
On another note, how long do I have to be a member before I can like a post/comment? I feel ungrateful not being able to drop a like on responses.

It won't take long at all for you to get full member status. I don't remember exactly but it's something simple like posting 5 times and getting 1 like to become a member.

1st grow 1975 Columbian Gold seeds will not finish outside in western Oregon.
It's worth the work to bring in good soil.
