if i let it go long, will it help me sleep?

I have always understood when to harvest via the tricones being 50% cloudy and the basic concept that if you harvest early it will be more energetic, but short-lasting and if you let it go long, it will be more heavy and longer lasting.

I suffer from insomnia. I have heavy duty fruity, purple arrow and OGkush. If I were to let i of these go long, like most of the trichomes cloudy, would that - in theory - help with sleeping issues?

thanks?

Yes. You should let them go to amber instead of milky. Amber is cbd what you seem to be looking for. I would leave some milky though too. Have the best of both worlds.

When you say "let them go" do you also mean harvest not to far after the plants
are ready for harvest? Would that not mean "over ripen" the plant a bit?
And if so then obviously it is ok to let your plants over ripen just a bit to achieve the desired
effect for sleeplessness? I am wondering cause I prefer a good couch lock and I could use
this info for my plants as well. Thanks!

Yes letting them over ripen will produce more cbd the couch locky stoned kinda high. Some say fuzzy high though. The thc degrades and turns into cbd. You would have to use a microscope to see the trichomes, or just wait to harvest like two weeks after the pistils start receding.

thnaks, that's that's I thought. I have done it on accident before but it's been a long time . I don't care if it turns the THC into M&Ms as long as it help me sleep.

it's not worth makign them go to amber, it is worth making them go to leaf trichs ambering, bud trichs completely cloudy, and if the strain is stoney it will knock you on your ass.

remember guys latest research shows that CBD is not what is responsible for that super stoney high, it's actually the terpenoid and flavanoid content of the plants individually.

as long as the bud looks /done/ you get what you get... take a pic of it if you need us to tell you if its done or not.

so if i understand this correctly your saying that generally speaking the trichs on the bud will amber quicker than on the bud.so if u were to harvest with amber trichs on the leaves you should have mostly cloudy trichs on the buds.giving an overall better high based on the genetics of the plant. I would have to agree for the most part as i am a newb(first successfull grow just wrapping up) i havent had all the experience but i have that newbie enthusiasm and have noticed everything in my grow as i check my girls quite often.I am in my last 5-10 days and in the last 5 days i have noticed orange hairs appearing quicker everyday, most trichs on bud are milky and the leaves are starting to show amber on the tips. The leaves have just now started to show signs of yellow.am in coco and water to 20%daily regardless throughout so have now started only water for the last 5-6 days.

i have done 1 inadvertent experiment on this topic
i don't have insomnia, so i wasn't really looking for help there
any how, i had this late finishing nl#5, which i liked enough to try a reveg
my 1st reveg, and being a noob at it, i left more bud on than i needed
after the initial flower time, and the reveg time, plus time to cut clones off the plant
the buds had been matured a good 19/20 weeks or so, it was a long time
the revegged bud looked OK, at least not moldy, but had ambered - a lot
sleep is what it was good for, really wouldn't get you high
i ended up tossing it, but was an interesting result

The type of high is mostly dependant on the strain. Letting the trichs go amber (and they don't on all strains) will give you a shitty, less potent smoke. Get/grow a strain that has a reputation for the effect you are looking for

I have never heard this before. I understand that strain is the most important, but I never heard going long will give shitty buds.
