If Og Kush is Clone Only

Because of the hype. In the beginning everyone tried to say they had OG but a lot of them are hybrids if that and a lot of them are s1's.

i know. but if they are s1's of og kush. how can ity be another cut. like fire, tahoe, sfv, ghost and such? are they hybridized as well?

Because S1's aren't identical copies. S1's still produce variations in their offspring. I don't think they're claiming they are cuts off of the same plant.

SFV is a hybrid, Ghost is questionable but probably a hybrid, Tahoe might be the original, and I don't know about the fire cut as far as how it came about.

i thought s1's only made exact copies. but they would be feminized. its good to know though.

is og kush and diesel the same just different pheno's

Definitely not, when a mother is pollinated by a reversed version of herself the genes still match up differently. While the end product will be similar there will always be variation. There are almost an infinite amount of possibilities of how the genes will match back up.

so og is basically chemdawg?

I think so I mean it carries the same "fuel" type smell that Chem Dawg does.

Chemdawg Crosses: • ‘OG Kush’ (the original cut) came from an s1 from in a bag of ‘91 Chemdawg in the Lake Tahoe area in 1996. • ‘Sour Diesel’ aka ECSD came from an accidental cross of (’91 Chemdawg x Mass Super Skunk/NL)x DNL after the DNL hermed and seeded the room. The DNL’s lineage is NL/Shiva x Hawaiian. • Original Diesel’ (also known as Diesel #1, Headband, Daywrecker Diesel, Underdawg) came from a cross of ‘91 Chemdawg x (Mass Super Skunk x Sensi’s Northern Lights) done by a guy known as ‘weasel’.

Take male pollen from a non OG Kush and pollinate an OG Kush cut. Tada! You have an OG cross that you get to slap a name on. Banking off the OG name just makes marketing sense.

The people who stated this have changed their story several times and the lineages aren't accurate.

Yes that is correct. I have never claimed that the Mass Super Skunk was in the Sour Diesel. Chemdog did, thinking the Sour came out of his room but that's definitely not the case. The story on the genetics have changed a few times after getting the story from the real sources. No one really knows the real lineage of the Sour Diesel because it was not planned. But after talking with the couple of people that were responsible I have concluded that there was never any "Shiva" or Super Skunk in the mix. It was skunk bag seed that was found at a Dead show at RFK that was mixed with Hawaiian and NL pollen. I think the real lineage goes like this. RFK Skunk/Hawaiian X NL. I think that the Hawaiian and NL came from early 90's-late 80's Sensi Seed stock.
It was first thought it was Underdawg(91 Chem X SS/NL) X DNL.

The Tahoe strain came from Ocean Grown Kush, which is the original, but its been bred in Tahoe for many generations and now has it's own characteristics unique to Tahoe. Swerve, the famous tahoe grower at the time(1995-96), was given the cut from the creator of Ocean Grown Kush, Putz, who lived in Sunset Beach... hence Ocean Grown. It's a cross of Chem Dog, and Putz's own male, secret ingredient (elite cut from Lemon Thai X Old World Paki Kush). Putz, however, had created the first generation of this cross in 1993 and by '95 the strain had started to gain popularity.

In '96 Putz got married and move to New Zealand. He had been breeding the strain for a while and had some pretty stable seeds. He gave good amounts of these seeds to a few of his friends in the LA area. One of these friends sold a bunch of the seeds to growers in the San Fernando valley region and they started to grow and stabilize their own OG Kush that was slightly different than the original Ocean Grown Kush from Putz. They hence named it Original Gangster Kush.

I really did used to like OG Kush back in the day... but now it's whatever to me. So many people say they have it, when they don't. If you've smoked some OG you exactly what it is, and what the high is like. I just got bored of it. Hell, I smoked Lamb's breadth a year because of how fun that high was, but it got boring to me as well. I think it's stupid how much hype that it's getting now, but whatever... GDP used to be the shit (funny enough apparently that's clone only too), and now people don't like it anymore. I'm thinking the same thing will happen with OG eventually.

Well, that was the story I was told and it involves breeders that I have heard of and believe that they could do this. I mean it's possible that OG Kush is just random... but I think that a really potent strain had to have been created by a very good breeder... Subcool didn't just happen to find querkle in a bag of purple urkle... he made that shit.

Edit: Subcool was used as an example, I'm not saying he made OG Kush.

The last time I read about OG's history there was a lot of work done by different growers I think. One guy would work on it and then some clones or seeds would make it to the next guy who whould work on it etc. I think it's more of an evolution kinda thing, there are new spins on it and there are still clones of the original. OG seems to be a pretty hybridized "strain" so there is a lot of phenotypes and that's why their are so many different cuts.

so they are not necessarily different phenotypes. they are justr tclimatized versions of og kush. so i could grow my og kush's outdoor and eventually call it og kush carolina cut.

now the stories are confusing me. so og kush is not a bagseed from the dead sho?
now, i always thought it was chemdawg, and not og kush, that came from the infamous 13 seeds from a bag of weed from a deadshow, and og came at a later date, and has nothing to do with the original 13 beans that chemdawg got from the dead show..
