where? PLEASE show me where amare says how much PPF their lights produce ? and oh btw my name ain't BUD, friggin turkey
Every single e-mail the guy ever sent along with on-line par meter tests. Not to mention outstanding performances recorded left & right. It's all common knowledge. Why you choose to ignore it is beyond me.
If you'd rather I call you a Turkey, that's fine. Seems more suitable anyways.

"its all common knowledge"

the whole point of my first point was that amare DOES NOT PUBLISH how much each of their lights produce. Plain and simple that's PPF or lumens. footprint data does not tell us how much light a unit produces and is only usefull for comparing footprints to footprints.

so where is the data ?

btw is your middle name Hillary ? lol sorry couldn't resist

lol I believe I will back out of this thread slowly and chalk it up to a misclick....
Sorry. Never meant it to go this far. Allot of plain & utter disregard for the facts. Some people are to Thick to see what's directly in front of them. But honestly. There's allot to be learned from these debates I think.

You are arguing with a guy who thinks non-Amare cob builds struggle to beat HPS watt for watt. See "horseshit", above.

Hundreds of e-mails unedited, directly copied & posted from the company. How is that any different then the web-site?
Are you saying they lie? If it was on the site would it still be a lie?
I don't get you man.

is that it ? ohhhh I see :)

regardless, I just want to see how much light the amare produces before I can recommend it over another light. My growers trust my advice cause I base decisions on real facts and data.

I'm sure they do better in the right hands. But for info I could gather when directly compared side by side, They come up about the same.
Look for yourself.
I've been growing with HPS for awhile in a large setting. I know what they Yeild with all my strains. Now I'm finding out what I can do with my Amare. It's better even in the worst circumstances.

Your only advice seems to come from web-sites. Do you even have any growing experience?

emails dont really mean anything.....if something is posted on the website and they back it with their name.....they can be held legaly liable if the said product does not produces when replicated in a 3rd party lab.....with a personal email....."sorry those were our enitial finding but upon further testing they do......blahblahblah"
I also dont see anything posted on their site nor any links to any info reguarding the output of said lights
and the only thing that they have done is package COB's which are proven along with single diodes which have there place with a UV bulb which is completely unfounded and only mythological at this point with only opinion and no actual recorded data.....so they took all that and packaged it for $1,200.00.....

wtf ? so you are striving to be a nasty politician....

I just asked for amare to publish how much light it produces before I can make a recommendation.

how can you ignore the lack of a raw light output datapoint?

Do you even grow? Cuz I don't see why you'd be making any recommendations if you don't. I've never seen a picture of any plant or light from you?
From what I hear you saying, I don't think you're qualified to make any recommendations at all.
More like you only go off of web-sites info. Only. Well, Platinum states they're #'s & their allot higher then any cob lights out besides Anares. Does that mean they're better? I think it takes many factors to determine what will do the best job.
Thank you guys for letting me know all the info you desire. Now I will be doing an exact even side by side to the best of my ability & I'll be purchasing a par meter to show everyone the PPF & PPFD. Then when I'm right again, will you still come up with more to argue about?
Do you need me or someone else to post all the high PAR #'s again from the owner directly? Or will you say the PPFD is unaccounted for using the same components but with lenses & reflectors providing up to 40% more output. What does Amare call it, Power Par Technology? Not sure as I haven't looked at the site in forever.
All I know is I'd rather not be pointing out all the obvious like a dummy but it seems that it is necessary in this case.
Let's call it quites for now as not everyone appreciates these debates of stating the obvious. It insults everyone's intelligence.

Hi everyone!

If you are new to LEDs....then just check out this cool video that shows a great example of one way to mount a COB-type LED to a heatsink, plug in the wires and let 'er rip! ;) It looks fairly easy now that all the parts are commonly available and designed to be pretty much "idiot-proof". Lots of people are getting into making their own fixtures!

If you don't at least show me a plant under any given light source, then Please Don't Ever Interupt me again on your life!
This is a place for growers & people who want to learn how or community paid advertisers. If you're none of these then there are plenty of other sections on this forum to run your mouth about almost anything.
All you do is confuse people with your nonsense.
Show me a seedling under a CFL, I don't care. But stop boasting about recomendations if you haven't a clue.
And you never ever ever answer any of my questions.??????

My new light I'm gonna make will be super efficient passively cooled and will outperform any thing that amare has to offer. So stop it. Please, I can't wait until all my HLG-240H's arrive next week. If Amare were to copy it. It would cost three times as much for what I paid to make it and they wouldn't be even using top bin.

I agree with the fact that if i don't know what the light is delivering, and how... at this point.. Im not interested and sincerely steered away.

There's literally no point asking for pictures of a plant, name calling, whipping out dicks, etc. We're talking facts, documented, real world #s- that a company has yet to provide.

That's all. No more. No less.

Past couple posts are looking like a prime example of "ad hominem" to me... I respect both parties here, but buz had very strong points that couldn't be shut down.. and so it's come to this. :eyeroll:

So how bout them citizen cobs?!? Lol

Nice! You're the Man Reals. Tell us more about these chips. Did you see the flip chips from that comp. advertising here? N that big ass cannon tank light. Pretty cool stuff.

If I have to hear the word efficiency to much more I might puke!!!!
My HPS Yeild about 2 pounds for every 1200 watts. That's like $160 a month for $5600. How greedy are are guys whom speak of efficiency like it's all that matters.
What I wanna know is how many pound/thousands of $$$ are you willing to lose just to save a few dollars on your electric bill?
That's why I'm not praising super efficient LEDs. like others. Yeah it's great n all but not if it's costing me weight. When I here of a super efficient light I think of less intensity = a smaller Yeild = thousands of $$$ lost to save maybe $100 on every 6000watts. It's a joke really. Yeah, I'm really happy I can get 1-2 GPW off my new lovely Amare. But to be honest if it couldn't give me a pound a plant then it needn't be in my garden unless it's side-light which = pounds to me anyways.
So @REALSTYLES , could you answer my efficiency question? Seeing how I know you understand & at least you grow unlike Purple Ballz whom only runs around trying to hassle anyone's valid point with nothing useful.
The company has provided all the #'s. That's my point. You guys won't accept it because they're so high & the first company to even make a Cree cob light. Plus really well priced. You do understand adding monos cost more $ right? And their still competitive to these COB lights. But theirs so much more offered. Everyone wants to grow with high CRI or peak prime colors. But they just can't. So hate on it?

It took me a while to understand efficiency and you will understand soon. I was just like you when I had my mars light lol. I'm not saying Amare sucks but I'm trying to say is soon as you make a light and see much it costed to build and it's performance you'd say differ. How about this. I build you a light at cost no charge for my labor and run a side by side with the Amare 450 to my 400w cxb3590 3500k and to keep it fair I'll dim it 10% so it's 360w against the Amare 450 which is $1100 are so after maybe some discounts and only $700 to build. One day, one day.
