Hello LED gurus! First post, but long-time visitor.

Has anyone tried out the new Blackstar V2.0s?

The pros here consistently recommend Apache, Area 51, and Hans, however I am curious if there has been any feedback specific to these new Blackstars yet. The only answers I've found so far are speculative, and based on previous models from the company. Perhaps they are too new, because my searches aren't revealing too much.

Thanks in advance!

I'm speculating that they won't work in a year:)...........V1,V2,V3,V4 etc......crap no-name components=== longevity issues

Getting warmer..........he's asking too much $$$ for the older version(AT120)

if the price is right they have a good warranty you can try it. they are 5 watt diodes so they will be intense and i bet they will work good when you find the right distance. hte only problem is if you have jsut 1 light and it goes down you are screwed. so always have a backup. plan.
Love and peace.

Yea, I have Cfl's currently. I would offer 500 for the apache, and link for the solar works for me over here.

Warranty on that 700w is 3 years, which means they will send you the part the is needed to be replaced, and you replace it yourself.

just have a backup plan your light being down for a few days is not a good thing. i like to have backup plan for lights. another reason why i have not bought an led panel yet. when i buy 1 ill buy 2 ore more and then im set with a backup.

Peace and Love

Ridiculous if he thinks people will pay that...they are $859 new on the site right now. I hope people don't believe the coverage he(not I or apache) states...and yet has 6 in a 4x8.
He's in my area too. But I don't have/know the number. Curious if I know the person.

So 859...plus my code(RBK331)...and a brand new at120 cost $715.55
And that code will discount any apache product on their site.

Thanks Psuagro, however I'm looking to avoid speculation.

Maybe I should inquire a bit differently. I have $200 to 300 I can afford to put towards supplementing an xgs190 panel. The room can handle heat from T5s, but not from HIDs. My primary concerns are up-front price and final yield. I'd get another xgs if I had the funds and they weren't sold out till the end of Feb. I need something quick because my girls are ready to flip now. I've read that supplementing LED lights with some T5 can be really effective, but another LED also seems enticing.

So anyways, I've been considering these options:

2X - 4tube 2' T5HO (96w Total) (~$180usd - 2-day shipping time, and I'd put mostly 3500k tubes in them)
or
1X - Hans 80w (~$290usd - ??? shipping time)
or
1x - Blackstar V2 240(135w_actual) (~$280usd - 5-day shipping time)
or
Another Option????

Am I correct in assuming I'd get more herb-per-dollar with T5s or Blackstar, as opposed to more lifetime from the Hans? Anyone believe the Hans could actually perform as well (or better than) the Blackstar in yield? I'm leaning heavily towards the 2 T5s.

Congrats on your purchase Dr. J! I look forward to seeing how your plants respond to the new light. Curious what made you decide to pull the trigger on the IG? Also did you get the pontoon?
I think hyroot's thread plus a general faith in the combination of the two technologies really is what did it. I'm not counting out LEDs for sure--i think they're going to be part of my lighting profile soon, in fact.

be easy,
Dr.J

considering your concerns, and your gut, I'd go with the two T5s and try to run a mix of 27/30/3500K, 50/50(like zoomed florasun), and far red bulbs.
Yeah seems like a good option.

Those Inda-gros look sweet too. The $1400+ for both light and pontoon is quite a steep drop. Probably worth it over time though.
