I would like to see the ONYX with non frosted lenses..

I also dont believe that it replaces a 600W HPS>.. intensity perhaps but not coverage...
You are correct sir on the coverage^^, 600w + hid coverage ain't happening............The revision should have a better reflector design, hopefully:)

Thinking of going led, due to heat issues. It would take a while and hope nothing comes up making me dip into savings.

Any way I have a 8x9 room what would be the best led to go with. The solarstorm 880. looks cool with UVB, really expensive, is that just marketing, or do they have a good product.
Its gonna cost big $$$$ to cover a 8x9 with quality leds..................................SS880 is a good product, it does put out some noticeable heat due to the 5w diodes being driven over 4 watts..........there are better panels in that price range though imo....

Good evening all, first time on the LED threads and my first post on Rollitup so if I make any mistake be kind in pointing them out. I got an early Christmas, I hope, I will need some imput from a LED persons on what I have found. I clean up foreclosed properties for banks and some body left behind some LED stuff. The questions will it make anything? 5 CREE COB CXA 3070-0000-00N004Z50F, 5 Artic Alpine 64 GT Rev 2 CPU coolers,5 Meanwell LPC-60-1050, Rhino 110v Ac to Dc power supply and power cords, flux, solder and couple tubes of thermal paste.

I have grown under MH for the past twenty some years and have been slowly trying to take in all the led info. Basically I understand what the LED components due, I think i do.

The space I'm working in is 3.5ft wide by 9ft long with 9 ft ceilings. I would like to elimanate the two 600 watt MH used for veg with COB's.
The 5 CXA 3070 are just a start. Will these Lpc-60-1050 drivers power the CXA3070, If so how good are the drivers for this CXA3070? I can always buy new drivers to power the CXA3070 and use the LPC-60-1050 to power any additional fill in COB's for the3.5ft wide by 9ft long hallway. If additional COB's light is needed, what should I consider and the light coverage of what I have and should be considered.
The picture is of the room or should I say hallway.

AFAIK, 5x cxa3070's aren't just a start, they're good enough for a nice finish.

I'll let the experts chime in on drivers.

Thank you for your reply, so would I be better to start thinking about using this in the flower room. The flower room (I will post a pic when the lights are on) is a 6x12 with 9 ft ceilings, which contains 3000kw of MH. I run DWC a six bucket setup, three are SOG( each bucket has three of the same strain as one of the bushes. It's a taster to the main event) and three are Bushes, I would like to use this gift as best suited to full advantage even if I have to invest in more equipment. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Holy crap did you ever get lucky!! You just found around $600 of the finest LED gear out right now. Those cobs are perfect for flowering and can function for veg. They won't cover a room that big though.. Each one will produce around 40 watts of light with those drivers. Those drivers will function perfectly although they are not the highest output but they are fairly efficient. Is the setup already put together or is it all separate parts?

Send some luck my way maybe?

ah, well, that's a rather large space... a 6x12 w/ 9ft ceilings might need a bit more than 5x cxa3070's... i'd recommend SupraSPL's thread (as well as a few others'... keep an eye out for signature links), and consulting SDS's LED analysis. There are several users here who have posted their DIY adventures with these COBs and similar. If you can afford it, i'd recommend obtaining some cxa3590's (not currently available in singles, i think...), or just more of the cxa3070's. Hang around a while, i'm betting the more experienced LED guys can help you out.

The second box had two Foil packs marked 3590 and 4 more drivers the numbers are different, 60-1400. The third box has two CXA2520 two and two CXA1507 and one out of the wrap with no markings?????? a Sh*t ton of wire and looks like a huge roll if solder. Ok that's it that's all it is all in peices. Lots of pieces. Their is a lot of paper work here too...

Lmao, it wouldn't surprise me at all if we found out that who ever lost that hardware was a frequent visitor here at the led section on rollitup.

Then this will be interesting. An suggestion?
Of course, you can put them in the mail and send them my way lol. Nah seriously, I was just pointing out that there are quite a few people here on the forum in the led section doing diy lights with the exact COBs you found. I hope you enjoy them and grow many gorgeous buds my friend.

I'm hoping (not really) someone will say the name on the invoice, then my honest inter self would take over and would be like you pay for shipping. All exclusions will apply after construction begins, Tomorrow.

There's been a deluge of growers new to the LED game making threads to request buying advice recently.

To combat this, I hope to centralise "Recommend me a LED light for my situation" threads into one place (as the answer is often the same).

IF you need help deciding what light to buy, post your situation below! we will endeavor to help you!

PLEASE be specific and check your question hasn't been answered already!

I will reserve the next post so that if the community comes together to produce a FAQ, we can keep it nice and handy at the top.

Sticky would be nice. :grin::grin:
ill keep it simple,,,2x2foot space, 1 plant , which led is best for price
