are the driver wires to cob a standard length?

good luck man. you can make it a Cree light just checkout @Growmau5 he has a video on how to upgrade that light so you don't have to smash it like I did one of my Mars II crap.I'm currently going through a warranty claim with Mars ...had the panel for almost exactly a year and 10 diodes basically melted on me.... I've heard if warranty claims are within a year they will send a shipping label to send for repairs....we'll see how this goes.
Its unlikely any wire length is going to work for everyone, adding wires(wirelength) is not a difficult taskThe driver wires to COBS are to short to do it the same as video.

you might not be able to run 4 vero29s on the hlg-240H-c1750 at 1750ma. 4*38 = 152Hey guys i am changing my diy setup a little bit. I am now doing 4 vero29 4000k per heatsink. I will be using 42" 5.888" profile. I will be putting in a 140mm fan for safety measures. I am having a hard time picking a driver, which one of these two would you go with. hlg 240h c1400b or hlg 240h c1750? I am trying to achieve 250watts per 4 cobs on the 42" heatsink. What size wire would you recommend to work with the vero29s? i've heard mixed reviews, some say 14guage some say 18 is fine. My question is which would would you use and solid or stranded?

, Voltage range is 71 - 143V. The driver will probably lower the current as it hits the voltage max. maybe somebody with vero29s knows.
18 gauge wire is fine, I prefer stranded for flexibility. make sure the wire insulation is rated to at least 300volts.
amperage. Thanks for pointing that out PB. How about the hlg 240h c1050b? I'll get stranded 18awg insulated for 300v. What about the solder, what do you recommend or like to use with a 60w soldering pen?
I'm having a hard time understanding the numbers on led drivers. I know on meanwell 240h is the watts it'll consume, c is for constant current, what does the 1050, 1400, 1750 mean?
thanks PBamperage.
i'm using 60/40 Tin/Lead solder.
its really depends on your budget, but if I had other options I would look in to them besides these types of cobs. What are peoples thoughts on this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Populargrow-Full-spectrum-400w-COB-led-grow-light-Flower-Hydroponic-Systems-Lamp-/262382966431?hash=item3d173e569f:g:XnoAAOSwuAVWxmyR
I found a thread on it here https://www.rollitup.org/t/im-testin-seed-to-harvest-with-this-pretty-neat-cob-led-from-the-ama-if-anyone-is-interested-400w.897404/
But it looks like it just turned into a pissing contest, you can see that there are different colors on the cob and not pure white but according to their light spectrum specs this is "similar to the spectrum of CREE CXA& CXB 3070 3000K".
I have minimal knowledge of COB's (just what I have gathered from others posts) just putting it out there, any help appreciated as I would like to buy a second light.
Some people keep saying burple, I am guessing this is when it is painted purple?. This one produces a purple-ish light but I think this is from the purple diodes and not a colored lens?.
That seems great, but can I hang the COBs individually or do I need to build the metal frame to hold the lights?@Diskokobaja
nice light but highly overpriced as you can get this.....no tools needed really.....

basically the same except this kit has the upgraded 3590
and cheaper......
yes you have to put it together but......it's like putting together ikea furniture
just a thought
A core truth that keeps getting restated in different ways throughout this thread is that unless you have DIY chops or a minimum budget, it doesn't actually make sense to go with LEDs. That budget threshold is dropping quickly, however.Hi SoOLED, thanks for the response, I am not sure what happened to his plants, I tried posting for an update but the thread is locked.
I am not to well off, I could probably go to £300 but in honesty I am just an amateur grower so it really needs to be justified. I would prefer to go no more than £200 and only ever plan on growing no more than 2 plants at a time preferably auto-flowers.
