If you get a green point for Rep. What is a grey point for ?

I got a grey point for a comment I made, it wasn't bad or misleading comment. Just wondering what thats about. I'm not the best with computers !

Gray rep comes from people who have been here for a short time and have low post counts. I like gray rep ... I see it as a sign that I've added value for a newcomer. cn

It means they tried to give you rep, but they had none themselves. Must have rep, to give it.

its when the person gave you a rep, but they havent made 100 posts, so their rep doesnt count. its a shame rele, cos id say 3/4 of my reps are grey, but like cannabineer said, it is satifying you know you helped someone. ~
