If you mix spinosad concentrate...

How long is the mixture active? I use Capt. Jack's concentrate a lot, but even if I just mix a quart at a time, I have some mixture left over. A person who worked in a nursery told me that the mixture was only good for about 24 hours, so I usually throw it out after a day.

Can anyone confirm that the mixture loses effectiveness after 24 hours? I once found a bunch of dead silverfish inside a sprayer that had held a batch of Capt. Jack, so I was hoping maybe the spray might have a longer "shelf life."

I don't know how long it is effective but the 1st page of instructions on Capt. Jack's concentrate in the "how to mix" section says what your friend said.

Yeah, that's what I seem to recall but I was too lazy to re-read the fine print on the label. Thanks.

Fine print says to use it as soon as possible and not to let it sit longer than 24 hours, if even that.

I wish they would advertise that "louder" for the benefit of people who don't want to read the label with a microscope. I guess the question is, then, why is the shelf life so short if you mix from concentrate and how does the kind that is sold in spray bottles maintain its potency? Because the Capt. Jack that comes in a spray bottle does not say "use this whole container within 24 hours."

Might be better off paying for a new spray bottle every couple weeks instead of trying to mix concentrate, economy-wise. Who knows?
