i have discovered the easiest way to clone. as easy as cutting and putting it is water.

actually i have to give the credit to my wife. she is the one who has been doing this method on every house plant that we own.

we have this stuff we use to transplant plants to reduce stress called vitamin B1. there is a pic below. all you do is take the cutting, scape the bottom to remove the outside of the plant, to make more areas for roots to shoot. mix 1 tablespoon of the B1 into a gallon of water, pour a little bit of this mixture into a small cup and wait a couple weeks. thats it. i keep it on a window seal for light.

this has worked on almost all of our houseplants and i decided to try it on my 10 week into flowering thai x super skunk. the pics below are three weeks later. and yes all of that white covering the bottom is root matter.

give it a shot. the B1 is like 10 bucks for a lifetime supply bascially

really?

i thought that this is pretty cool. you dont have to do a thing but let it sit there. i never misted, never kept it covered. just sat in a window seal and has stayed perfectly healthy for 3 weeks. i know that the root system isnt huge yet but it will be. this plant was 10 weeks into flower, so it is gonna take a while regardless of whatever system you use.

you guys can have your aerocloners and rockwool, hehe

yes, it takes longer to root and it does up the chance of that clone being a hermie due to stress but it is done all of the time. you just put them back in veg after they root. this one was very far along in flowering, 10 weeks. here is a pic of the plant if was taken from.

What happens to the startings of the buds when it goes back into veg? Sorry, just having a hard time understanding how it would keep growing lol, but it's sounds like something I'd like to do.

this whole process was done without any humidity control, misting or dome, at all during the 3 weeks that it has been in the water. i just set it in the water put it in the window seal and waited, refilling the B1 water when necessary. this is my first weed clone done this way. but we have done about 10 garden/house plants that are now in soil and doing good. i have always used a dome and misted as well when using my aero cloner or those peat cubes things. doesnt seem to be needed this way

if you revegg a whole plant with buds, you generally want to harvest the major buds and leave lower bud sites. this is how i understand it at least. for this clone it will just grow taller and branch out eventually. the little top bud will just kinda grow out

i use b1 for cloning as well, i swear by it. cost $2.99. b~1 is a great vitamin that makes the root system thrive. i use it when watering my plants also to produce a better root system.
have you ever used eleanor's vf~11? i swear by that as well.

i am gonna look into the eleanors, thanks. the best thing about the B1 is that you can use it when you transplant your plants as well to reduce shock.

is the eleanors the same basic thing? what do you do with it.

That may be fine for hydro, but when you go to transplant into soil the microscopic hairs on the roots will be destroyed, and the plant will suffer further shock.

Also taking cuttings in flower will degrade the genetics, but that's another topic

no doubt about the degrade in genetics. i didnt have any vegging plants.

as far as the transplant into soil, that makes sense, but all of my housesplants i have done this way have survived.

Hmmm....cool.

So correct me if I'm wrong here...could I, in theory, take a clipping from a plant that is a week or two away from harvest, do what you did, and start another plant from it? I'm wanting to work on a 1 plant cycle, that would be great.

EDIT: Ah, I read Green Cross's post...I'm working w/ soil for now....still it's cool.

i use to use your way and it worked great but i found this other method on a forum and it works wonders! 10 days and had root balls the size of a golf ball on all 4 of my cuttings. Not bringing your way down at all because yours is pretty simple and seems to work great as well.

I take 2 containers (aluminum cake pans) poke holes in the bottom of one and fill it with perlite then fill the other with water... take your cutting burry it in the perlite and let it go. No rooting hormone no PH'd water, just fill and leave it. Mist once a day if you can doesnt really matter. 100% so far

yes you can. that being said, it does not mean you will have a healthy copy of your plant. revegging so late will probably lead to hermies. and as green cross said it will degrade the qualities of your plant. lets say that the clone you took had dense buds. it could have fluffy buds from clone. this is the case with mine as well. i dont expect it to be as good as the original, or would i be suprised to see it hermies. i just dont have any vegging plants at the moment. so i used a flowering plant and i was interested to see how the method worked on a flowering plant, since it is harder to root it.

for a one plant cycle just use a mother plant you know is a female. keep her in vegg indefinetely and take as many clones from her as you want. i ma not sure if this is a one plant cycle, i have never heard this term

i have heard about this method from another member on here. he did it on his tomatoes to try it out, but i have not heard if he tried it on weed plants. i am gonna try this as well. thanks.
