Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

I didn't meet the requirements for having a debilitating condition. I almost lost my leg, it took 4 surgeries to finally fix it. I have permanent nerve and vascular damage, and can barely walk at the end of every day. Somehow that doesn't meet their requirements.
Sorry to hear !

Although it may be an either or choice.
Definitely an either-or choice, according to the bill. Section 62(e) of the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act says, "[a]n Opioid Alternative Pilot Program participant shall not be registered as a medical cannabis cardholder." Subsection(f) further states, "[a]n Opioid Alternative Pilot Program participant shall not be considered a qualifying patient with a debilitating medical condition under this Act." While there's obviously some overlap, the state is definitely treating these as mutually-exclusive, separate programs.

Should be here, http://www.idph.state.il.us/rulesregs/proposedrules.htm#emergency But they're not too fast at putting them up there judging from the original law passage.

Should be here, https://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/index/register/home.html But surely won't show up there until Friday.

Other than that all I can figure is watch for press releases or the cannabis policy sites. Financial and Ag don't have places for their emergency rule releases.

I mean either or for cannabis or opioids, and I mean according to Drs. My Dr told me he couldn't prescribe me opioids when he signed. I'll have to question him further on that, he's always told me no opioids when I wasn't asking so I just thought that's what it was, but after hearing from others I wonder if it's because of the PMP. Or it could just be his opinion in which case we'll need to talk.
I've heard others being refused care because of the cannacard and not just from Pain Management quacks.

I'm not even going to pursue this any longer. As far as I'm concerned,it's been a complete waste of time and money. I have pain meds that work, even though they are being vilified by the government that won't allow me access to MMJ.

Not to make this Political, but what you have gone through, Rauner really deserves to be in Jail with all our other Past Governor's. Hang in there Jon Boy. What area of the State are you in? How many people have needlessly suffered the past 4 years over his Refusal to permit Chronic Pain Patients.

Under Illinois law, there are various rulemaking procedures for agencies. In this case, the bill signed in August calls for IDPH to issue "emergency rules." This is good, because emergency rules take effect immediately or up to 10 days after they are filed with the Secretary of the State.

So we know the proposed rules are going to filed with the Secretary of State's office, and we know that the Secretary of State will then publish the rules in the Illinois Register. The Illinois Register is published on Friday of each week, and is available online.

When will we see them? Hopefully as soon as they are filed with the Secretary of State. Either the SoS or the IDPH should hopefully make them public at that time, perhaps on the IDPH website. Hopefully we won't have to wait until the Illinois Register is published, as that could mean waiting until Friday or even next Friday depending on the publication deadline.

(Lot's of hopefullys.)

That's not political, that's Illinois tradition.

I keep rooting for him to end up in Jail, so we can have a complete 5 man Basketball team of Convicted Felon Ex-Governors. They could tour like The Harlem Globetrotters, but with Armed Prison Guards for Referee's!

I think that has more to do with the DEA rather than any state medical board. Because cannabis is still CI, most prescribers won't risk their DEA # for prescribing opiates as an adjunct for cannabis.
I went through this in GA after being on PM for 8 years. Unfortunately, for folks like us who suffer in chronic pain, this won't change until cannabis is either removed from CSA or rescheduled.

Does anyone have the phone number or email to contact to see if your application has been received. Sent mine in around 11/20. Is it too early to contact them?

Yep, too early. If you read some of the posts over the last few days it looks like IL is working on apps from the end of Sept. It’s about an 80-90 day wait for most to get thier card.

I would for sure wait! I would email in a week or so to make sure they got your app, then I would call at 75ish days. Keep checking on here, and see what people’s wait times are. They should be shorter by the time you get yours! Good luck!

Day 60 . applied October 4 , Online , Paid C.C.
I guess you should be watching for me. Day 66, 9/28 online.

Going by others applied in August I've thought Friday (day 70) infusion was possible but unlikely, middle of next week more likely. Worst case after Christmas before New Years. But they seem to have really slowed down in November.
