Yep, willy nilly, total chaos. Illinois at it's finest, AJ being worked on same time I was. Except I sent mine in Electronically over 30 days earlier.
Yes, they only have 3 people to process all of the apps, Moe, Larry, and Curly. Curly had mine, but fell way behind because Moe kept poking him in the eyes and putting him in headlocks.
And the wait is over!! Took only 7 day’s to receive my card. Best of luck to all!

Congrats, good luck.

So I just got off the phone with the idph. I was informed that the person working on my application is out sick today. Supposedly they do not have the records from the ca some how. When I sat there and printed out three copies and put all them in the damn envelope lol. So I have to wait until tomorrow to try and call back and speak with the lady to find out wtf is going on?

That’s a bummer....I might try to call today. Do you just ask them what the status is?

Hey everyone I've been following this thread for a few months now. Sent in my application 1/23/18 via snail mail. My check has not been cashed yet but looking at the timeline it may take an extra week or two. 4/20 will be day 87. It appears there are only a few people handling this process (what I was told when applying at the Dr.)
Be patient since every time someone calls it's only delaying the wait. Calling before day 70-75 will not yield much (if any) valuable information or speed up the process. I'm not here to lecture though so you do you. I fully understand this waiting process sucks but I know of 4-5 people who have had absolutely 0 problems getting accepted and approved.

"Approximately 68 percent of Cook County voters on Tuesday approved when asked if Illinois should legalize 'the cultivation, manufacture, distribution, testing, and sale of marijuana and marijuana products for recreational use by adults 21 and older.'"

The question was raised earlier "why not just grow"? Consider that each plant is a $1000 fine. If you have children or live near a school you can run into additional charges. Concentrates carry a much larger penalty and any dry or wet material will also be considered. When you factor in lawyer fees the card is affordable and the safest route. The current dispensaries have a wide variety of products/ strains and the quality for the most part is top notch. The companies Gold Leaf/Ataraxia and Cresco have some absolute FIRE. Check out instagram if you are curious. In the next few years we may get there but you are really risking it. Believe you me I was just as disappointed that growing was not included in this program. Hang in there our day will come!

SO, AFTER WAITING 100 DAYS, IT CAME IN 48 HOURS!!! ALREADY BEEN TO THE SHOP AND I AM LOCKED AND LOADED. FOR 100 DAYS, I WAS SINGING, "GONNA GO ROUND IN CIRCLES". NOW I AM SINGING " GONNA FLY HIGH LIKE A BIRD UP IN THE SKY!" IT IS FANTASTIC TO KNOW THAT ONCE YOU ARE APPROVED, YOU MIGHT HAVE YOUR CARD IN 4-5 DAYS, SO HANG IN THERE EVERYONE, I WILL CHECK IN ON YOU ALL LATER.... PEACE OUT GOD BLESS

Hey everybody! This forum has been really helpful for me during the dreaded wait. My checks were just cashed today so I thought I’d share my stats.

Drs. Appt @ Innovative Express - Dec 19
Fingerprinting @ Dispensary - Jan 2
Mailed in application - Jan 10
Called IDPH - Mar 9 (told ‘not even close to my application’)
Check cashed - Mar 22

I’ll give an update when I get the card!

Thats great news! You are just a couple of days behind me. My check was cashed on the 16th. Many have said they get their card about 2 weeks after the check clears...I hope they are right!!

Well here is the update for the day. I spoke with my caseworker. She said she received the email and that she would be working on mine and a few other applications today. She also offered to call if anything else comes up. She also said once she is done with mine today she will give me a call to let me know if it is approved or not. She did say that my background came back fine she just needed those papers lol. So very good news for me should be seeing my card before 420 lol

here in nevada it took me one day to get my card and I had to drive 30 miles to a doctor to get a form signed then back to the government office where it took 1/2 hour to approve the application. then a drive to the DMV to turn in paperwork and get my card.maybe illinois should ask nevada to teach them how to run a program.:):):)
Just to post an update, I mailed my stuff in on 10/27 and my check cleared today so I'm guessing I'm probably about 3 weeks out still from getting the card in hand...but it's nice to finally see something happen after 9 weeks of nothing...at least I know they are working on it now!
I applied/mailed my Illinois application on January 8th 2018. Pot Doc signed form on 1/22/18. Yesterday, 3/21/2018, the check for the 3 years MMJ card "cleared" through my bank. I figure another 2 weeks because a 3rd party now make State ID's, DL's and these MMJ cards. So about 3 months in you filed in 2018...

Yes, and I just figured out why they delayed mine. I am on SSDI, which means I pay half price. I signed up for just one year, so $50. If others on here are not on SSDI and signing up for 3 years and sending in $300, who do you think this broken piss poor state is going to work on first? I have no doubt they wait until a person on SSDI paying half complains multiple times before they go get and work on their claim. Why else would I be put 30 days behind others.
Yeah, I don't think so... I paid for 3 years and waited a solid 90 days.

I was able to speak with a human at idph this am and received my status update. Initially, i had overnighted my application to the office on 1/12/18. Confirmed with caseworker that my file is in processing and they are currently verifying with Secretary of State that I do not have a CDL licence or any issues retaining to my driving record. I was told. Things should be done in a couple weeks.

Going to give my theory on " WHY DOES THE PROCESS TAKE SO DAMN LONG IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS" ? In a previous life before my illness left me disabled in around 2010; I was a Social Worker in Township Government and involved with several State programs. With all the wondrous technology available at our fingertips, Illinois is ..still very much in the dark ages. Correspondence was primarily being handled solely via fax and or snail mail. Illinois was just beginning to use email correspondence for some of there programs where we were expected to provide monthly / weekly updates. The idea of a State portal or one stop shop for state business has been discussed for years; however, as we all can attest to hear, that has yet to have happened. SO WHY DOES THIS PROCESS TAKE SO DAMN LONG? It has nothing to do with money and who is paying how much (although that would make sense right?). rather, it's about logistics.
1. DMV .- verify no CDL and no negative issues on license,
2. SSI . - verify receiving social security disability to pay lower fee for permit
Each department is a stop along the Illinois train ride. Hope this helps a little. ;)

Filed 1/8/2018. Saw pot Doc and was approved (Dystonia) on 1/22/2018, check cashed by state on 3/21/18. Today is day 72 since it was mailed....... So another possible month when the pot doc said 30 to 60 days MAX. More like almost 90 from some of what I read here. And w/an election year.. The most "crooked" thievin bunch of bastard employees and the A holes they take direction from.... Snail mail my property tax and it was CASHED in 3 DAYS. Each Pot app has a check for at least $125 if on SSDi for 3 years (some $250) and I'm still waitin and hurtin after 72 days. Bottom line: Illinois DON'T CARE about their people.. Never did... And if it was their kid or relative who desperately needed this, they would have this in 3 days, not in 3 MONTHS..... Disgusting.....
