Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

State received my application March 13th. I verified April the 16th that they had received my application and Dr. Verification form.
Bpibb23, Dadiomac and anyone else from early March, since we are all trying to get a baseline for processing thought I would chime in:
As stated previously, application sent on Feb. 10th.
Called in Mid March with a dispensary question and was told my app wasn't recieved until March 5th. A few days later called again to make sure they had everything and if the info given was accurate. They wouldn't give me any date of receipt etc. Only told me I was in the system.
Emailed May 2nd for an update only received the automated response.
Hoping any of you around the beginning of March time frame can provide your status and whether or not you have received any updates so we can all try to extrapolate from there. Be well and thanks in advance!

Got through again and I was transferred to the supervisor and I was told that everything on my application is good, but he sent the medical part to his supervisor to be reviewed. Supervisorception.

Maybe another two weeks at best?

I wrote a kindly worded email to IDPH today and got this response in about an hour:

Currently your application is processing with the Secretary of State. The agency is verifying your Illinois residence, confirming that you do not carry a CDL license. Once this process is complete, SOS will then submit their approval and we will then send you information to the printing company so that they can process and print your medical cannabis card. Once printed, the printing company will mail you directly the card to the address you have indicated on your application. Please allow up to 14 business days to receive the card in the mail, as the printing company is base out of Pennsylvania. We truly appreciate your patience.

Thank you

So, Im thinking 18-24 more days...probably right around June 1st. And Im ok with that. :)

I sent in my app on March 10th. I'm nervous because when I got my fingerprints taken, the woman taking them said I don't have any discernable prints. She did her best but said they would probably be denied. Anyone else have this problem? How'd it work out?

That's awesome! I hope all February people get their card within the month.

I submitted my application through Innovative Express Care. They had signs posted that fingerprints are rejected often. Don't worry just yet though. The state will contact you if they need new prints. You can of course email them or call if you want to double check.

Out of curiosity - How many February applicants are left out there? Is yman one of the last to receive their card?
Yes, I'm still waiting for the card to arrive from a Feb application. It was received by the state on Feb 27th. I got word of approval on April 30th and confirmation it was sent to for printing. I'll update when it arrives so you all have a better idea of recent timelines!

So I have good news I finally got through to department of health and she answered so great I asked her if they got all they needed for my card and she said now remember they cashed my check on the 18th of April so I guess after the check cleared on the 24th it was approved and the card went out on the 30th and it would take up to 14 days because it comes from the east coast so I hope that helps people who are going crazy like I was i don't do marajauna but I eager to try if it will help my mind to shut down a little and ease my pain I'll let you know when my card comes
What number did you call?

Long time lurker. I started this process toward the end of March via Innovative Express Care.

I received and email from thepatientalliance on April 3rd saying my application was submitted and my CC was charged 250 for 'qualifying patient fee' the same day.

I haven't heard any news since then. I'm only on day 36 of waiting, but is there anything I should be looking out for? I keep reading about checks clearing and cashing. I never wrote a check during the process.

I haven't planned on calling or emailing anyone in Springfield until the end of June, assuming I hear nothing. As stated earlier, just curious what the next milestone is in the process.

Thank you

Welcome! I also went through IEC and submitted in March. I'm not sure as to why but IEC uses credit cards instead of checks. The state charges your card immediately once they have received the application. Next step is the hardest - just wait. You shouldn't hear from the state at all unless there is an issue with your application or they need you to submit other materials. If you're like me, and super impatient, you can try emailing or calling. Try to wait until at least day 45 to contact them. That's what Dr. Khare from Innovative recommends. If you do choose to email, make sure to include your date of birth and mailing address so they can easily look you up.
