I'm really not buying into the "we process applications in the order they're received" line right now. Everything was sent electronically on March 8th. I confirmed they received my application, and still nothing with no word on whether or not they've gotten to me. I'm seeing so many people on here and Facebook who applied weeks after but have their cards already! Sorry guys, really frustrated with this trash state.

When they cash your check does that mean the application has been accepted? Also, how long does it take after your check has cleared to get your card? My check cleared May 22nd.
Thanks for your help!

FYI - This just in! I bet the Rauner will sign it the day after I get my card.

Illinois lawmakers have approved a measure not only to allow medical marijuana to be used in place of prescription painkillers, but also to eliminate requirements for patients to get fingerprints and criminal background checks.

The change would allow all new applicants to buy medical marijuana from licensed dispensaries based on their doctors’ orders, rather than having to wait up to four months for bureaucratic approval. Patients could no longer be denied based on criminal convictions.

I applied through 1Body1Life on March 16. At that time I was told 45-60 days.

The state application fee ($250) was charged to my credit card on March 27.

After 60 days, I tried emailing Illinois Department of Public Health Medical Cannabis Program and got the same response that most of you have gotten;
"Due to a high volume of processing, we CANNOT respond to inquiries about your application status. We will process all applications based on the date received. If additional documents are needed to review your application, you will receive a letter from the program asking for more information along with information on how to submit the documents."

I called 1Body1Life, they told me "no, I'm not sure who would have said 45 - 60 days, the state is very backed up and its more like 90 days".

I tried medclock as some of you have suggested, they stated 55 days and gave me an estimated date of June 1. Which was incorrect and honestly just added to the frustration.

In an attempt to figure this out; I called the IDPH yesterday.

Surprisingly I got through on my first call, the lady was extremely nice and very helpful. She looked up my application, confirmed the date that it was received (March 27), then went through the application to make sure nothing was missing.

She then said they have not processed it yet and that I should expect to hear something in 90 days from the application date, June 27.

I hope this helps some of you, I was neurotically looking in the mailbox each day for the past several weeks thinking something has gone wrong or has gotten lost in the mail or during the process.

I'm now just waiting until June 27

Hey waitingpatiently. Thanks for the info. My card was also charged March 27th and I know they haven't started processing mine yet. Travis and I both submitted the 20th. Sounds like you're on the same time line as us. Welcome to the club. We're like the three ganja musketeers

Hey gibz, thanks for the news update! Rauner has 30 days to sign SB336. If he doesn't sign it, no worries, it passed the Senate and house with enough votes to override a veto. But it's still a good thing you applied for your card now. Even if rauner signs the bill, it won't take effect until December 1st. And I don't think any of us want to wait THAT long...

"three ganja musketeers" LOL... good advise from both of you, thanks!

I'll vent a little then be done; it's insane how comparatively quick and easy it is to legally get a prescription and the prescription filled for opioid based pain meds (Oxycodone) and sleeping pills (Ambien) that are both addictive and really bad for you verses the time, effort and expense of getting legal medical marijuana. Four mouths is crazy... you end up suffering or building addictions.

Anyone know how long it takes to get from the “Checking with Secretary of State” for address and no CDL to actually get in delivered?

I can’t imagine it takes longer than two minutes to see that I just got a new DL with proof of address in March.

I wholeheartedly agree patiently. In the 78 days I've been waiting, my doctor has quadrupled the dosage of my medications. While I understand that prescription medications have their place, I am not willing to put myself at risk of addiction. I've seen it destroy family members lives and I'm not willing to chance it with myself.

Positive News - below is an article that discusses SB336. SB336 should already be sitting on Rauner's desk, and if not, soon.

I've heard it's a very very quick process and that you should expect your card ~2 weeks.

No the wait is already long enough. Hopefully, JB gets in and legalizes everything. This is frickin ridiculous.

For those who are trying to call or contact DPH, I've found that the second number works better to get an answer(217-782-3300). Usually the 855 number returns the same message of being unavailable. You may need to call a few times, disregard the message about "Medical Cannabis Applicants call 855xxx)

just got confirmation from innovative express that my application has been submitted to the state and now my countdown officially begins. Really glad I found this group because checking the posts here seems like it helps the wait a little. At least I know that by the end of the start of fall I should have my card!
