Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Based on earlier posts on this subject, it looks like the way the process works is that you are assigned a QP # when your application is received, but there is some time between then and when it is finally approved and the card gets printed and mailed. So I think you can have a QP # on day one. But you still have to wait for IDPH approval before your status becomes "active".
Certainly makes sense what u are saying. Seems more like I’m going to be over the 100 day mark n I haven’t seen many people on this post saying they’re over 100 days. Have u?

Not here that stands out in my mind but I have elsewhere, especially lately.
Is that 100 days from when they received it?

96 days from October 19- January 23. I can only assume the holidays played a major roll in the slowdown too. How long did your card take to come my friend?

I just got through again. Get ready to be kicked in the balls, cooch or whatever you have. My app was received 10/27. They started processing on 1/18 which, when I asked why my check hasn’t been cashed, means my check was sent to the bank in a large batch. They don’t do anything further until the bank has notified them the check has cleared. I don’t even show it deposited yet. I asked about provisional. She said tings could change but as of right now only those that apply online after 2/1 will get provisional access. To make sure I was hearing correctly I said someone applying on 2/1 will get provisional before I, someone who the state received my app on 10/27 will. And she said yes unless they change the rule. She said the system wasn’t set up to read before 2/1. On a plus She was a nice and as frustrated as I so I think working there has got to be miserable.
Some positive news is my check cleared the bank yesterday. So hopefully only a week or two left which will put me around 95-100 days if the week or two guess is right

Just got off the phone with the guy who processed my application. He sent a deficiency letter because my picture was "too small". However, he had me go ahead and email him a larger copy and my application will be completed today. He did verify that everything else was good to go.

Also, he said that I will receive a letter to take to the dispensary because the card printer is having issues. He said it could be a couple months before anyone gets actual cards but the letters will work as long as needed.

Applied online: 11/05/2018
Approved: 1/24/2019
Received: TBD

Sad that they can't fix the printers. Hey, JB Pritzker, let's bring the printing operation to Illinois! This is all ridiculous!

Quick question for those who have their cards: how long does it take to complete a dispensary change, and should I submit the form on my own or use the form on the dispensary website? Any anecdotal experiences welcome. Just curious about the process...

It doesn't seem like they're going in order of receipt, at least between mail and online applications. A member posted yesterday that they were just approved on Day 90 (10/25) yesterday with a mail in application, while you were approved on Day 80 with an online application. I'm on day 76 myself and am tempted to call solely for peace of mind.

I call every day sometimes twice. Call them. It’s their job and doesn’t slow them down when they answer the phone like some people say

Exactly right. It does not slow them down at all. They hire people to strictly take phone calls. They are not involved in the application process, except for looking up the information.

How long does it usually take you to get through? According to my phone I've called 135 times today, each time only reaching the automatic message about high call volumes.

I gave myself a cut off of 200 times a day. And some days that many I didn't get through. There ARE two different recordings though. One says there are high call volumes and suggest their website and then hangs up. The other thanks you for contacting them and says their representatives are busy and places you on hold.

Update from my last post, I got through at call 151 today Never got the second message to be placed on hold. Was told my application hasn't been looked at yet.
Applied online: 11/8
Currently: Day 76

I haven't switched dispensaries (and probably won't - the selection at MedMar is the biggest I've seen), but in earlier posts a few people have said switching takes about 24 hours.

Just a guess: going through the dispensary to make the switch may be a little faster, since they want your business and have that incentive to expedite the process. I don't think there's any such incentive if you go directly to the IDPH. I will add though that before I was approved, I called the IDPH and asked about switching dispensaries, and they said they could do it immediately on the phone with them. The catch is getting them on the phone...

I've been following this thread since 10/5/18, and this is new information to me. It has always appeared to me that the state does not discuss any part of the process or how their office works or how the workflow is handled.

How do you know they have people who do nothing but take phone calls? Do you know someone who works in that office?

if the call says " THANK YOU FOR CONTACTING" instead of "THANK YOU FOR CALLING" then that means you will be on hold. the cut off is 10 mins and they will re route u to hang up but call right back and u will be placed on hold again. keep doing until u get through. just listen to what the beginning of the message says and u dont gotta sit through that whole nonsense message they have
