im a new grower lookin for any advice.

I've completed two harvests since I started growing and I have been very disappointed with the yield. The buds look dense and smell amazing while growing but after harvest the smell goes away and they get leafy and light. Also they have a weird aftertaste and I was wondering if it was because I didn't flush the nutrients early enough.the buds also look very hairy and do not resemble any strains thhat I have purchased on the streets. Any information would help. Thanx

well a couple of reasons may be that you harvested early. did you check the trichs with a scope.

I was worried that I harvested too early on my first harvest so I made sure to check the trichs on the second harvest. And I dried the second harvest for 2 weeks and it still had an odd flavor. Could it be because I didn't flush the nutrients early enough? I only flushed with water for one week.

i dont think it was the flush, but others will argue about that. i usually flush for 2 weeks, but i use soil and after a good flushhing, its many days before it drys out enough for another flush. so i only get about 3 flushes in 2 weeks.
last year i started my flush it was only a few days when i could see that the plant was using its stored energy. it looked like the plant wasnt going to make it another 2 weeks.

Read the GrowFAQ and research online for growing tips. Its pretty obvious that you dont really know what you are doing. Drying is only one part of the process. I dont think I have ever smoked a "uncured" dry bud that didnt taste like shit.

It was cured. I wasn't worried about the curing. I was worried it wasn't dry enough before I started curing it.

No its nothin like that. It tastes ok. But it has a bad aftertaste and it def doesn't have the sweet smell that it did while it was growing. The buds are also very hairy and although I grew diff strains they looked the same. Just very hairy.
