I'm a new patient looking for an honest grower

I do not understand all of this but it is my understanding if you find an honest grower they grow so many plants in my name I get my medicine they get the rest. The last "grower" I had wanted to charge me for everything. I'm sick and I live on 527.00 a month disability. Can anyone help ALL my papers are in order! I didn't mind helping out with supllies and things but what di I get for letting them be my grower , Then it was PGE bills and it got to be whats next??? Oh i was to pay the grower fee in. full myself..I just want to be fair.

The deals you will find will very greatly from grower to grower. Some want you to pay a fee for each ounce. Some will want you to pay a portion of the costs for the grow and you get all your plants. I personally have a deal were I get two free a month and he keeps the rest. Anything more I pay for out of pocket.

Zild. Your deal is better than mine. I have a grower sept- June July-sept I grow for myself outdoors. My grower provides 1 a month. Which is an amazing deal for him considering what he's capable of producing in my name!

That's not good. My Grower was thinking about doing the same thing. If he does I'm going to give him the option of me paying him for his nutes, materials, elect etc.. which should come to no more then 400.00 at most every cycle and take everything, or I will find another grower. This program was not setup to make a grower money. If the grower can't make enough from giving you two a month, and keeping the rest to recoup then they have too many dollar signs in their eyes. Even at two a month they are making well more then it takes for their services.

Sometimes the grower don't have room to even take advantage of the extra plant count so your card is of no use to them.
If your getting quality zips at any less than 125
I would consider yourself extremely lucky.

The exception is a cancer patient in which case I think they should be doing simpson oil and it should be as free
as pissible.

Most deals I have seen seem to float around 1oz to 1oz+7g a month. Also, Zild, why would any grower ever let you pay for all the stuff/bills and then let you take it all? Do you see all the labor involved as being deserved for patients? I know that you were probably speaking in hyberbole.. but while this isn't a program to make pot growers rich, it's also completely idiotic to believe these growers should essentially do it for free(which would be a loss of money, considering the effort involved in growing a decent sized garden) because people are "patients". Despite the current interpretation of the current OMMP laws, I personally don't believe everything is just deserved because you have a card with patient on the name.

I think the 1zip-2zip a month is very reasonable, because really there isn't a lot if incentive to add any patient that wants more. Hell, really unless you are paranoid about staying exact on the program or being very open about the amounts you are producing there is little incentive to deal with more than 1 patient you really know well, the best being yourself. It's easier(but not as smart and certainly not legal) to sneek a few extra plants in than open yourself up to the current legal risks of outside patients. Of course I am taking about indoor growing; I am sure you can find some outdoor/greenhouse growers who would be more generous.

Pretty much everyone I know has had ether a shitty grower or shitty patient experience. Hopefully when the laws get changed up a bit it will alleviate some of the legal grey matter regarding patient/grower relationships but until they do I say fuck it.

Multipatient growers are in it for the money, no more no less. They take advantage of the loopholes in the program, I wish one time one of these big time Ptown guys would piss off a patient enough, he'd go get the sheriff and show up and take the patients six plants, they are his property and the growers have no say in the matter. And I was told, when you are there, take the six best plants, or take the 1.5 of the best finished meds they can find, and that grower will whine and whine and nothing he can do about it, those plants are the patients property and have been since they were planted. IF the motherfuckers just wanted to grow their own, it'd be diff, but they want to be pot stars and make a million in the process. What really sucks, is the people actually looking for good growers, can't find em.How bout some of you stud growers get your patients on here and we'll hear their opinion. Not a biased profit driven grower that knew the rules going in, still did it, and gripes later. It shows the true driving force of the growers, MONEY!

Well I was fine with the 2oz a month. I thought this was fair for everyone. It gave me what I needed and gave this person ample left overs to do what he wanted with to recoup his costs. Cutting it in half because he wasn't making enough money tells me he has lost track of what this is all about. If not for the patient he would not be able to do this legally. Especially when he supplies family members and himself for free on our cards. When neither himself or family members are patients. As for labor this is not to be charged for and if so how much is this persons labor worth? Does a person growing organically get more because the labor is more intensive, or does a Hydro get less because there is little labor involved? Where does it end? I'm not against a grower making his money but when you want to be greedy I start to take issue with it.

I used to grow (illegally) back in the 90's (99) plants. I know whats involved. and it only took me about 2 hours a day in my garden for labor and that was because I watered each plan individually. Some days less time some day a bit more. I'm not the type of person that would walk in and take it all. I was just using that as an example of if he was worried about his costs, then I would pay his costs but then this person would not be entitled to any of the crop since he recouped he cost in cash upfront. What would he base his reason for being entitled to any of it if his costs were repayed. (This is what I meant by example). Trust me if I was to pay cost incurred and took the whole crop,a and kept 2 for myself got rid of the rest I would make out like a bandit. Even after paying the cost to grow for that cycle. Personally I would just prefer to get my two and that person keep the rest, and let him make his profit, but don't try to take advantage of the situation and screw the person that lets you do what you do.

Hello all, I am glad to see that I am not the only one who thinks growing isn't all about money. Patients are not banks or ATM machines. I had a huge debate with someone about this same issue. This person got his card without, in my opinion following the proper procedures and when I pointed that out to him he became we'll just say sensitive. He may have pain issues, but he has never been seen by a doctor. I told him that if he just wanted to grow and sell then do so, but not under false pretenses. He got his card and began growing hydro no big deal, I just like my organics. I pointed out some other things, because he claimed he was growing for himself and another patient. But as he became more SENSITIVE... lol The truth came out.In his words, "I want to produce as much as possible because I have kids and a house payment and also because I don't work. I need to be making up to around $27000 every cycle." Now there is a lot more to this story, but that alone sent me off the handle. I grow for myself and another patient and between the two of us we use a little over a pound. My average 2 month cycle is about 2lbs(organic composted soil), so more than enough to support us. the other person pitchs In about $300-400 a month to help out with food, water, and electric (all offered not requested). So when I told the guy growing hydro that this is all he had to do, he got pissed and said I was stupid for growing that way. He thinks I should be like him and grow as much pot as I can because all people are about the MONEY, what the fuck ever. I don't now about anyone one else, but I am happy with my meger lifestyle... I am a disable veteran and I live perfectly fine off of my less than $1000 a month. Mainly because I made smart investments and wasn't trying to be greedy about it, slow and steady wins the race. And it keeps me happy....

You are correct in that growers aren't supposed to be paid for their time and I guess my opinion differs in that I think that is total bullshit and is going to end with legalization. 2 hours/day seems right, but there is much more involved in finding great/unique genetics, the soon to be testing requirements, security risks, needing to be in town at times during grows(I guess a lot of people have roommates and partners), etc. If it was so easy and so many people have the time to grow then the 1,000 dispensaries within 2 miles of my house wouldn't be open. This is all a very difficult line for both grower and patient to tow, but it can definately be done -- your current situation seems pretty decent for both you and your growers needs.


Personally, I cant wait for the now inevitable legalization. I hope the medical system is kept somewhat it tact for those who need it, but it wont be. There can be a middle ground between grower/patient, but I wouldn't bother growing ounces to "be reimbursed" for 125.

edit; Just wanted to add that basically what I would prefer is something similar to how alcohol is handled with the 3 Tier System. You have growers, distributors, and patients/consumers all separate instead of how we have growers and patients completely intertwined. Of course I will always support that anyone should be able to grow their own.

Hello Southerner, I hear what you saying, but I don't think these people are growing more than just a few ounces. I would say a 1-2lbs at least and if you do the math, I just threw some numbers out there 3 days/ $10hr for 60 days = $1800, then nutrients maybe a little high, but $500, utilities (electric and water) $400. So $2700 is the total for everything, again these figures are examples. So if you produce 2lbs you can recoup your money and pretty sure there is a small profit. 125 X 32= $4000-$2700= $1300 profit. As a grower you still come out with money in your pocket. or you can give your patient that $1300 in meds (10.4 ounces) and go make your money back somewhere else.

So long story short is you wan't wait for it to turn to capitalism and prices sky rocket like prescription meds. Look at what is happening in Colorado where peeps are paying more then street prices her for Herb. Sounds like your looking to get paid. Sad but heh it's the American way I guess. So if you have 6 plants and should get a minimum of 2oz off of each. That's 12oz. Giving 2 and keeping 10 is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

That would be a matter of perception I guess. Not saying all peeps should be on the program but it is not my place to judge. Who am I to say hey take an aspirin or smoke a doobie as to how someone should medicate for pain.
Bottom line is nobody would be allowed to grow if it we not for the patient. People need to remember this and not lose sight of what this is all about.

I'm not looking to get over on anyone, and I wish that growers would return in like. It should be a copacetic relation ship. Not just about the grower and not just about the patient. The patient should not be paying for your rent, car payment etc... If you need to make extra money for these things then get a second job. If your looking to the patient to make you that extra money then you are WRONG.... and have lost sight of what this is about.

If tthey can't even agree on dispensarys and such, what gives one much hope for legalization? Thank god for being able to grow your own Now if you could find landlords that let you grow, the world would be a better place, imo!

I agree a grower should be able to provide good organic cannabis for a beyond reasonable price consistantly.
